Revealing all of the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection's Secrets!

Today's a big group post at Papertrey Ink. And my new Christmas Tree Change Up Collection (stamps, card dies, box dies, and stitching dies) are being revealed as part of the holiday packaging extravaganza. I've been hinting around at stuff over the last three days or so and now it is time to show you all. YAY!

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry with the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection at PTI

For these two boxes, I've taken the Christmas Tree Change Up stamp set and stamped the surfaces of the Christmas Tree Change Up Box. I've placed a four sided star on the Simply Chartreuse tree and a place label on the Pure Poppy tree. Notice all that detail in that label!

Christmas Tree Change Up Box Die from Papertrey Ink

These are perfect decorations for your holiday table. You can see the slot at the top of the box that allows things like stars and labels to fit in the top. It also allows the sides of the tree to fold up easily. Use them as just accents or as place card holders.

Zipper die is included in the Christmas Tree Change Up Box Die from Papertrey Ink

Included in the Christmas Tree Change Up Box Dies, is an optional zipper die. You can add these to your tree box  to make them functional as well as decorative. There are stamps in the Christmas Tree Change Up Stamp Set that build two different multi-step sentiments that fit the inside of this zippered area perfectly. Imagine having some mints inside the box for after dinner? Or they perfectly fit Ferraro Rocher candies. YUM!

I've put together a video to show you how the Christmas Tree Change Up Box and Stamp Sets work together. And even how you put that zippered element in. Just hit play to learn more.

Exquiste detail with the Christmas Tree Change Up Box and Stitching Dies

And finally, my favorite:). Of course we needed to make this pyramid box shape into a felt ornament, right? Oh man, I love these things. Isn't it a beaut?

There are Christmas Tree Stitching Dies to work with the Christmas Tree Box Die to add stitching holes onto the felt and allow you to sew them up into delightful felt trees. I'm in love.

I have a video to explain that process as well. Very simple for all you hand stitching addicts out there.

Christmas Tree Change Up Box and Stitching Dies can be used to make heirloom felt ornaments, Papertrey Ink

You can make the felt tree ornaments as simple or as complicated as you like. Here, I just used buttons to decorate the sides.

Sequins and Beads on a felt ornament made from Christmas Tree Change Up Box and Stitching Die Collections

Or you can have a slightly more elaborate look with the two detail dies included in the Christmas Tree Change Up Stitching Dies. There is on that put lots of little holes for beading and sequins.  (Doesn't take nearly as long to sew this together as you would think. It goes pretty quick.) The other one cuts holes for the almost Nordic design on the Pure Poppy tree above.

Coffee Cozy Details add a sweet detail to the bottom of the Christmas Tree Change Up ornaments

For a sweet finishing touch, I found that the Coffee Cozy Detail Dies look really adorable on the bottoms of the trees! Just delights me.

OK. You know it all now. The Christmas Tree Change Up Collection can be used on cards, table top decor, place settings, treat boxes, and felt ornaments! Whew! That's a lot of versatility to pack into one collection. It's the "jack of all trades" this holiday season, which makes it an amazing value and entirely too much fun when it comes to creating. What will you make?

Thanks for joining me today. More inspiration can be found on Nichole's blog. And the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection will be available at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com

Your Holiday Table and Papertrey Ink

Here we are, halfway through the September Papertrey Ink countdown. Going strong with the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection that I have releasing on September 15th at Papertrey Ink. Back today to show you how you can use it to decorate your holiday table.

Christmas Tree Change Up Box and Stamps Place Card Holder

This is seriously a case of something that was meant to be purely functional, turning into something much, much more. I needed to put a slot at the apex of my Christmas Tree Change Up Box to help with the folding up of the sides. And I was looking at it when I was designing things and had a lightbulb moment. I could totally use that slot for something!

Yesterday, you saw how I put a red star atop my tree using that now extremely functional slot. Today, I'm placing the rectangular label there, also included in the Christmas Tree Change Up Box Dies. Suddenly, our little tree made from the Christmas Tree Change Up Box  is now a place holder for your holiday table. I have it stamped with one of three sentiments included in the Christmas Tree Change Up Stamp Set. But you could easily forgo those and write/stamp in a name.

Also of note, yesterday the sides flared out. All four sides of the box were the same because of it. Today, just by folding the flaps a certain way, I create more of a back and front to this place holder. And I used the triangle die from the Christmas Tree Card Dies, placed on front, to give our tree a two tone look.

Set your holiday table with the Christams Tree Change Up Collection and Beaded Holiday Quick Stitch Kit

A place holder would look great on a holiday table along with a stocking created with the Beaded Holiday Quick Stitch Kit to hold utensils. With everything color coordinated, your table will be stunning. Side note: I think I'm all about red gingham this Christmas. So very cheery.

String Frame Dies by Papertrey Ink strung with sequins

Moving on to what is now one of my go-to basics: the String Frame Dies. Here I use the smallest of the three dies included in the set. They fit really well on the Fillable Frame 1. And seeing how the Fillable Frames all seem to be around the same size, I think there is lots of play in this combination.

I used my Building Blocks Dies and Stamps for the sentiments. And I also strung sequins on the string frames! Love it.

Dawn helped me out yesterday when she said just to tape the string on the back of your project. Duh! I was tying them up until now. A little washi takes less time, is easier, and totally works. It made quick work of this card for me.

Florals and sentiment nicely framed off with String Frames Dies by Papertrey Ink

And lastly, the card I had envisioned when I designed the Sting Frame Dies. Using florals does not come naturally to me. The String Frames really helped me out. Here it helped me define an area for Garden Grace to be used.

Sentiment is from A Little Inspiration and that butterfly is from Flower Favorites.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you like what you see. All the new products I'm releasing and more will be available on September 15th at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com

Christmas Tree Change Up Day 2

Back again with more sneaks of my new products being released at Papertrey Ink this month. Definitely going to start showing you some possibilities today. What I'll be showing will not exhaust the possibilities for the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection, by any means. I have plenty more later to show you when it comes to this versatile collection of paper crafting products.

Christmas Tree Change Up Co-Worker Gift, Papertrey Ink

First up, I have something I've been referring to as the "Perfect Co-worker Gift". Imagine showing up at your desk and seeing sweet, little vintage style Christmas tree, complete with Hershey Kiss "presents" and a mini felt tree skirt? Talk about something that would make your day.

Here I used the Christmas Tree Change Up Box die to create this four sided Christmas tree. There are even dies to create the four sided star that tops it all off.  I also used the Christmas Tree Change Up Stamps to stamp the surfaces and give it some pizzazz.  Three adhesive red glitter dots help define the front of the tree.

Monogrammed tree skirt doubles as a coaster, Papertrey Ink

Once the chocolate is consumed (and it's just the right amount, a small indulgence but not so much that a person would go off the rails for the day),  you move the tree to see that not only was that a mini tree skirt, but a monogrammed felt coaster as well. The coaster is made out of the second largest Stitched Circle, Cross Stitch Alphabet, and the Stitched Swirls, all in colors that match the Christmas tree box.

Christmas Tree Change Up Box Die on wooden cube

The tree itself stands on its own, thanks to a 3.4" inch wooden block that is hot glued on the bottom. A great little something to decorate the desk for the season. And no guilt when it gets discarded in January. Win-win.

Christmas Tree Change Up Box Die paper ornament

More on the Christmas Tree Change Up Box. The main box is one die that you cut twice. You place one over the other, like an "x". Fold up and glue the sides. Very easy. (No worries if I'm not making myself super clear, there will be videos by the time the countdown is finished. Working on those!) On this gingham ornament, I cut one Christmas Tree Change Up Box Die out of Aqua Mist and another out of Simply Chartreuse. When folded up, the sides alternate color all the way around.

I also used the Christmas Tree Change Up Card Dies on this project. They were used to cut the Chicken Scratch Paper and glued on the sides for some contrast. Hearts and circles are from the Love Lives Here Die collection.

Jingle bells are inside this paper ornament, so they chime in a festive way when this ornament is handled.

String Frames Dies from Papertrey Ink

Next up, a card project for you. The "change up" part of the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection comes from the fact that you can morph this particular set of products into so many different types of  projects. Seriously, it is packed with value thanks to all the versatility. You've got your 3D projects above, but things work just as well on card fronts. Here I used the Christmas Tree Change Up Stamps and Card Dies on a card. The sentiment is from last year's Holiday Double Cuts.

Easily frame your focal point with String Frames Die Collection by Papertrey Ink

Also of note, I'm putting my new String Frames Collection to work for me to help give my card some definition. I used the largest of the three dies on the Simply Chartreuse card front. This one just puts two holes in each corner. With one pass through your die cut machine, you get all 8 perfectly aligned holes on your paper. All that is left to do is sew some thread to stretch between the corners and tie off your thread tight on the back of your project. Over and done with in a minute. Super easy, but with lots of impact.

Beaded Holiday Quick Stitch Kit + Enclosed Star

Next up, I've been fooling around with the Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit. Can't put it down. And one my creative guilty pleasures in life is to mix and match products. So there's that motivation. :) I have a pretty smart little 7 year old who has been putting lots of effort into his spelling and math flash cards. Such a good boy. Always has a smile on his face. I wanted to show him some appreciation. I made this door hanger for his bedroom door using the Stitched Garland and Beaded Holiday: Star from the kit. All out of paper.

Stitched Garland Dies modified for paper door hanger

I do have it hanging on a knob that is on a blackboard backdrop (dude...tongue twister). I could move this arrangement outside to take advantage of the natural light for my photo. But seeing as it was so dark and gloomy here yesterday, I couldn't get a decent photo of it on a door knob. But trust me, it works. It's hanging on Hank's door right now.

Because it is made entirely out of paper, I did have to cut the loop as shown. That helps you slip it over the door knob. And the door knob hides the cut, so no biggie.

Enclosed Star and Bead Holiday Star a Nice Match

A sweet find...Enclosed Star Dies nest perfectly on the Beaded Holiday Star. Score! There's some versatility for you. Would look great on a card. Which, I'm sure I'll be trying out sooner rather than later.

So, all paper and no stitching on this particular project, even if it uses two dies from the Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit. Love that about it. All about making it work for what you are in the mood for. )

Thanks for joining me. I'll be back tomorrow with more. The Christmas Tree Change Up Collection and the Stringed Frames will be available on September 15th at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com. The Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit is available now. If you want to see more of what that can do, here's a link to my introductory blog post.

Christmas Tree Change Up Day 1

Welcome back for another month of fun with Papertrey Ink. The September countdown is here and it is all about Christmas. Hard to believe, right? But we want you to have lots of time to craft for the holidays, so we make sure you have the good stuff with ample time to spare. If that means we have to turn on the holiday tunes and movies in the beginning of September to tap into the festive spirit, we are happy to do it. (Actually, it's a few months earlier than that if we've got products coming out! It's sunscreen and Christmas music...this must be what it is like to live in Australia.)

I have a few things releasing on September 15th at www.papertreyink.com. Most notably, I've got the Christmas Tree Change Up Collection. Get ready to have your mind blown by the time the 14th gets here. A few products will cover you for a lot of paper-crafting and sewing needs. I could not squeeze any more versatility into this collection if I tried. It's got it all. I promise you that there is a lot of value in these products.

Christmas Tree Change Up Collection at Papertrey Ink

I'm starting off easy. Just a card. I'm a bit of a tease, I know. Just got a bit of a late start on it all. But it will whet your whistle, at least.

This card features the Christmas Tree Change Up stamps, card dies, and just a peek of the box die. There are score lines so it it easy to fold up the edges of the Christmas tree. Gives a lot of dimension to paper projects.

Also using Pom Pom Pals for the sentiment and Seeds of Knowledge on a large Limitless Layers Circle to look like a tree skirt.

OK. That's it for me. Be back tomorrow with another tidbit or two. In the meantime, head over to Nichole's blog to see a bunch of new projects and link over to all of the design team. And Maile's featuring my new String Frames today. These things are SO. MUCH. FUN. Especially for simple stampers. Just the right touch of texture.

All the new September products will be available on September 15th at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com. Happy holiday crafting!
