Hands of Time

Alright Papertrey Ink fans, do we have some fabulous product introductions for you today! I'm so inspired by the Hands of Time Collection (stamps & dies) and just how easy it is to create with them. And for those of you who are looking for the perfect masculine themed set, you've got to look no further. This one has that all locked up.

But first, how about something girlie and a touch more whimsical for my first project? The new Hands of Time stamp set features very ornate, vintage inspired clocks. But with the right color choices, there's no reason why you can't do something a bit more mod and feminine like I did here on this layout featuring my daughter on her 1st birthday.

I stamped a Hibiscus Burst sheet of cardstock with the smaller clock image in Raspberry Fizz. I added the roman numerals in Fresh Snow. I also softened the edges of the layout by rubbing my Fresh Snow ink pad across the edge.

Here's a close up of my Clock Face die cut. The center piece die cuts separate so you could either cut out of a different color and/or mat it from behind like I did in Classic Kraft cardstock and the 1.75" Limitless Layers Circles. Nice fit. I'm seeing lots of possibilities of swapping that middle out with any of the vast collection of 1.75" circle images. I wanted to include some hardware on my layout, so I dug out some metal arrows from Tim Holtz to use as my clock hands.

And to girlie this up as much as possible, I stamped the circles from the clock cut with Buttons and Bits cover-plate style and then placed them back in place on the die cut.  The numbers were die cut with the Number Time Trio dies. I was initially intimidated by their small size, but with the right adhesive (a ball point glue pen), they are a breeze to use. The nice edge that die cuts have on them is very pronounced on these because they just aren't that thick. It's quite lovely and dimensional.

The new Tremendous Tag dies and a sentiment from Framed Out #11 add a fun detail as well.

And a fun find to share with you--the combination of the Countdown Detail Dies with  Journal Tabs Dies. Love it!

And lastly, a card using some of the same elements I used in the layout, but for a masculine birthday card. Keep the colors simple and neutral for a no fuss look. Here I used Classic Kraft, Fine Linen, and Rustic Cream. I used the same Clock Face die with the Number Time Trio and the Hands of Time clock hands. So very intricate. The sentiment reads "Time spent living life to the fullest will only inspire great things. Happy Birthday." I think this would be a great card to give with a gift card to the recipients favorite activity.
