Papertrey & Project Favorites

February 5th is finally here and that means it is time to celebrate Papertrey Ink's 6th Anniversary. For those of you who have been around awhile, you know what's in store. Lots of good stuff. Challenges, contests, announcements, and surprises. And that's on top of the usual monthly release fun. And those of you who are new to this whole thing...oh man...are you in for a good time! You won't look at these dreary days of winter the same again.
We were given the fun task of picking our six favorite projects for today's post. That was hard! I had fun looking back through old blog posts, but had only narrowed the field down to like 20 before I got real serious about it. Alas, I was finally able to get down to business and this is what I came up with as well as a little ditty about each one.

1.

Cupcake wrappers make me happy. It's the anticipation of baking a sweet treat. And packaged nicely to boot. When the Cupcake Collection dies were released, this was an easy stretch for me. Happy liners, stacked inside each other. Worked out perfectly. And they look about as real as they would in real life. It's a birthday card with an unusual spin. I like that about it.

2.

I think I'll see a theme here about my favorite cards--they are the ones that came together in no time, but have a fun twist to them. This one in particular was effortless. I cut the Chevron Strips Dies first in white to serve as my base layer and then cut up the same die cut in various patterned papers. All that was left was to assemble. SUPER easy and very colorful.

3.

Another effortless one for me. Inspired by some quilts I saw. It's all about product making this super simple to come up with--both with the Hello Sunshine Dies and all the new patterned paper that Papertrey Ink has released in the last year.

4.

Some of my best ideas happen early in the morning when I can't sleep. Nothing like starting the day off with two finished projects before seven. It rarely happens, but man, does it feel good when it does. This is one such project. I adore the mix of textures (embossing, glitter) and the unusual color combination of Summer Sunrise, Lavender Moon, Raspberry Fizz, Royal Velvet, and a touch of white. In fact, I think I need to bust it out again.

5.

The thing that I like most about this card that featured It's a Jungle Out There is the sunbursts on the background of the alphabet cards. I did that by making a mask with my Silhouette and sponging ink through it. Felt rather clever after that. I'm a sucker for the creative high.

6.
And lastly, a Button Boutique project from the anniversary festivities 2 years ago. I usually do cards, so it was fun to make a collage. And it just happens to be one I look at everyday--it's in my office. Matches my curtains. And seriously, what a great stamp set that was. I was blown away by it then and still adore it today.

For today's fun, head over to Nichole's blog for all the details and how you can enter. My notes tell me that you are to pick an inspiration piece from the design team favorites and post on her blog for a chance to win your Papertrey Ink wish list (up to $300). See, I told you it was going to be good. And it's only Day 1!

  1. Your bent toward "unusual spin" always intrigues me and most often makes me laugh! Each of these fabulous projects is incredibly different from the other, and yet your signature style is all over each one. How do you do that? No, don't tell me. It might spoil the fun! : )
