Well, I'll Be...

Something highly unusual happened at my house this morning. Also something I've been longing for since Hank was born, so it was super special. My crazy active, don't want to cuddle one iota little boy initiated crawling under the covers on my bed and wanted to be read to all snuggled up to Mama. Be still my heart. Never mind it was 11 AM on a Monday. It was absolute bliss for this Reader Mama.

Naptime surfing had me stumbling upon this. It's National Drop Everything and Read Day. Which has me wondering, did Hank know something I didn't know? Sure seems like it.

Of course, hoping for lots more of it. Hope you and your families do a little of it tonight before bedtime as well.

For all you old CKMB'ers...the book shower you threw me when Hank was born is still one of the nicest gifts. A day doesn't go by where we don't crack open one of those books. The gift of reading is one of the very best in my opinion. I've said it before and I'll say it again, thank you so much for it.

  1. That was a lot of fun, except for some of the books getting lost at ck. I think it is wonderful to create a new library for the babies!

    Enjoy!

  2. Glad to hear they are loved. We celebrate DEAR day every year at work, I made the stickers with Ramona on them(brings back memories doesn't it)

  3. That's such a sweet moment for you Erin. I miss those days for sure. Both of my girls loved nothing more than to be read to. Now, at 8 and 10 yrs. old, they are huge readers. Hope you have many more days of cuddles and reading with Hank.
