Fruit Fusion

And....we are finally back online with Blogger! They say timing is everything.  Humpth! Ah well, just means you get lots of little mini surprises throughout the day as we all get blog posts up instead of everything all at once. Silver linings.

So, let's just jump right into it, shall we? I choose to pick the apple from Melissa's collection without putting much thought into what I was going to do. Turned into a lightening strike of an idea when I thought of the icon of the one company practically everybody has a product by--Apple. Of course! Right? And the gift giving opportunities are endless--iTunes cards, iPods, iPhones, iPads. Really, it couldn't be more perfect.

Here's a shot of my card. I felt the Background Basics: Geometrics stamp is suggestive of cored apples. And because I was gifting a iTunes card, I felt the Sweet Symphony paper was an absolute must.

Now, is it possible to pun a pun? Not sure if is, but I sure had fun trying. The front sentiment is missig something, right? Hmmmm. Maybe we should open the card and see if the thought is completed...

Seriously. I think it is brilliant! Just kinda tickles me to death. I'll be recreating this card a lot.

Now, depending on your budget, you can just do the gift card. Or maybe include the technology as well! Either option would benefit from the inclusion of a simple homemade  iPod/iTouch/iPhone case out of the PTI's felt. My sewing skills are rudimentary at best. If I could pull it off, so can you. :) I like how you can use the Edger's dies to make a fancy button flap (see top photo for example).

Now all Apple products have a little apple icon on the back. Use the new apple die to create one on the back of your iPod/iTouch/iPhone case and back it with a contrasting color felt. Using what I had on hand, I adhered the two together around the opening with Ribbon Stiff. Fabric glue would work well too. Just make sure you cut the apple and back it with felt before you sew it up.

Check out the creations of the other gals for further fruit themed inspiration. Winners, every idea out there.
