Background Basics: Striped Sweater Day 2

Ya'll leave the best, most uplifting, and encouraging comments! I had a huge smile on my face today at the warm reception my debut as a PTI stamp designer got. So, thank you so much. I really appreciate the positive thoughts coming my way.

How about some more projects? I wanted to make a non-winter holiday themed card with a knit pattern. A baby card came to mind. I've always received the yummiest knit blankies, sweaters, and booties for all my babes. In fact, Sully has to wear a pair of booties for the first time today when we took a walk in the fall air. Extra special because they were hand-me-downs from Hank.

Here's a baby boy card using BB: Striped Sweater (the solid small block) and a star and sentiment from Night, Night Moon. I stamped a checkered pattern using Simply Chartreuse and Blueberry Sky ink on Kraft cardstock and staggered the stamped moon and Blueberry Sky buttons. Everything is mounted on Rustic Cream cardstock.

Now, I've heard a few wishful thoughts for a knit impression plate. Wish granted! That was easy, wasn't it:)? Got a chance to play with that today a bit. I made a tag using it and Shape It Up Series: Mitten. I've seen a lot of mittens that have a flap that you can open so you can use your fingers. Thought it would make an interesting papercrafting piece.

Here's a close up of the impressed pattern. Alternates between two and one line of knit. A hint to make a nice deep impression with your plates--spritz your paper with some rubbing alcohol. It moistens the cardstock enough to make it super pliable and evaporates fast. I'm doing it no other way any more. Works like a charm.

I heat embossed with white powder a tag from 2011 Holiday Tags. The sentiment on Limeade Ice (can't stop using it!!!) is from the upcoming Winter Hills. Washi tape is an easy way to add some interest to a clothes pin.

Be back tomorrow. In the meantime, get a'clickin' to see some other new projects:
