Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards

For those of you who purchased the Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire 2013 kit, you got the new Scent-sational Sentiments. This is a stamp set that will be available for purchase individually in October. For now, ya'll are the ones who get to play with it early.

It is an intriguing concept. Creating homemade scratch-n-sniff cards with matching images and sentiments? Adorbs!

I choose to work with the peach image. There's no other peach in the PTI product catalog, so this is a welcome addition. Can't tell you how fabulous it looks with Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry inks and papers. Spot on perfection. On my background, I stamped Berry Sorbet on Melon Berry cardstock using the new Autumn Pattern Pieces. Looks down home and country.

I accented my main panel with leaves from Ruby Rose (because they had the same lined treatment that the peach leaves did) and blossoms from Strawberry Patch to serve as peach blossoms.

Here's my smelly peach. Two parts embossing powder to one part sugar-free peach Jello. Smells like summer. First stamp your peach in regular ink then go over it with a second stamping of Versamark for your heat emboss.

And speaking of summer, I walked over to my local grocery store to pick up the Jello one day last week. I entered the door to see a display of the prettiest real life peaches right there a few feet. I bought a five pound bag on the spot. And then ate three of them when I got home. Perfect, juicy, sweet, ideal ripeness. Ahhhhh. I thought it was appropriate at the time. Made me smile.

Thanks for joining me this hour and good luck on your scratch and sniff cards!

  3. Isn't there a peach in the Fruitful set? I thought I remembered one in there... Anyway, super cute card, Erin! I love how you used the Ruby Rose leaves to accent the peach and the mats. Cute choice!
