Introducing Polka Dot Parade #8 & More Kid Kudos

Day 3! Halfway through the countdown for Papertrey Ink. Are ya'll getting excited by all the fun holiday products this month? Wait until you see the group posts!

I've got a few different holiday projects today using the cute polka dot pumpkin from Polka Dot Parade #8. He works very well with Kid Kudos, so I've got a few projects with the two of them together. Let me show you what I mean.

Good golly, this card uses all sorts of PTI goodness together. We've got a spooky, night time spin on the Mighty Oak Cover Plate (rumor has it, we've got it back in stock). Mr. Bones and our cute pumpkin from Polka Dot Parade #8 are taking an evening stroll together along a picket fence. A full moon is the perfect place to put a sweet, appropriate sentiment from Kid Kudos.

Next up, I created a word collage with sentiments from both Polka Dot #8 and Kid Kudos. I've brought in some supporting elements from Spooky Sweets, Spooky Sweets II, and Star Gazer Collection dies. I like how the word "pumpkin" in two shades of orange (Orange Zest and Terracotta Tile) takes on the characteristics of everybody's favorite squash with the addition of a pumpkin stem and leaves.

Also of note, one of the Kid Kudos "inside sentiments" is used on the front here. This is a great option for making your sentiments on the front of your cards have more visual weight. Here I teamed it up with "I love you", but you can definitely combine it with any of the sentiments and have it still work. Seriously, so many different combinations here with Kid Kudos.

For my last Polka Dot Parade #8 card, I wanted to feature it just on its own. Here we've got a cute little interactive card using a new die. (I guess at this point, the only conclusion you can draw is that this will be featured on a group post coming up!) To jazz it up a bit I heat embossed the zig zag border from the new BB: Stitching in orange. The "pull here" arrow is from Movers and Shakers Sentiments

What happens when you pull the insert? You get a little BOO! A sentiment is revealed from Polka Dot Parade #7 and...

...our ghost from last month (Polka Dot Parade #7) is popping out of the pumpkin to give you a little thrill. They work so very well together! Notice the zig zag cut on the top of the pumpkin? I used the sun die from Back Pocket Basics die collection. Easy.

And lastly, a project with just Kid Kudos. You've probably noticed how flexible and versatile all the sentiments are in this set. Just to give you another option, any of the bold words can be replaced with alphabet stamps or dies. Opens up a world of possibilities. Here I choose to stamp the word "lucky" with the Headline Alphabet. The ink colors correspond to the stripes in my beloved Rainbow Stripes dies. A fun, cheery card. Rainbows are considered to be lucky, so it is nice to have a visual reinforcement of the sentiment.

And that, is that for the day. Hope you enjoyed all the cards. Polka Dot Parade #8 and Kid Kudos will be available on September 15th at www.papertreyink.com if you'd like to add them to your crafty stash.

  1. These are all awesome cards, Erin! I love how you combined elements from so many different sets on your first card - and what kid wouldn't love to get a Halloween card? I am very intrigued by the new die coming out - it looks like one of those interactive ones that I have a love/hate relationship with - love them but they're so intimidating to me for some reason. I just need to get over it already. :)
