Introducing Inside & Out Well Wishes

It's Group Post Day #2 for the November Papertrey Ink release. And we are featuring a great set of get well sentiments today. An absolute must have. We are heading into cold and flu season and you know what means (besides the fact I need to get my flu shot and buy the economy sized box of Boogie Wipes for the kids ASAP)...it is inevitable that you and your loved ones are going to be down for the count for a day or two between now and spring time. Grrrrrr.

I've been making it a personal goal lately to send more "get well" cards. They should be right up there with "thank you" and "happy birthday" missives being popped in the mail. And since you rarely have any warning as to when you need one, it's best to has a little cache of them already made up. So easy to do with Inside & Out Well Wishes. I've got two cards today that are joining the pile.

As I mentioned yesterday, we're focusing a bit this month on pairing the new sets up with some of our old favorites. I busted out Home Made and On My Couch (these were released before I was on the design team...long time ago) to create this little scene.

When I'm sick, I pretty much plant my butt on the couch and watch hours of television. It's really the only positive of the whole situation. I wanted to recreate that thought. To do so, I die cut the retro television from Polka Dot Parade #3 in Smokey Shadow cardstock. I wanted it to look like the back of the television, since it would be facing the couch, so I embossed a lined stamp from Grunge Me to look like the vents you find there.

Here is the sentiment I used from Inside & Out Well Wishes. It's actually abbreviated from the full version. I did some masking to match up with my scene. It works really well as this two line message. If you would like to use the full message (Comfy pajamas, cozy bed, big soft pillow for your head. Worry not, the world can wait, take your time and recuperate) you can do that too. Isn't it just a lovely thought? And nice that you have two options with it.

Notice the little cord on the television? I thought it added a realistic touch:). Just the edge of one of the light string stamps from Come All Ye Faithful Additions.

Next up, I have this clever little number. This particular sentiment comes in two parts. There's the "Take What You Need" part which I have stamped on a Mat Stack 1 cut and stamped with the Mat Stack 1 Collection. And then there is the list of words that can be used along with it. The idea is that it can look like one of those flyers you find on bulletin boards. Usually you are ripping phone number contact information off.  In this case, you take the words of encouragement. Clever, no? It prompted me to use Lemon Tart cardstock for the "flyer" (just like a notepad) and attach it to my card base with staples.

Here's a close up. I ripped a few of the words off to give it some interest. And you can see Dawn's new BB: Needlepoint stamped in True Black on a Smokey Shadow card base behind.

It is my understanding that these two sentiments are a perfect match for the Spiral Notebook Paper die. The width of the words matches up with the width of the die cut. I wanted to go a little wider, so I stamped the words one and a half times and then trimmed my panel. Again, just another look.

I hope you love these sentiments as much as I do. I'm happy I can send out some love in the mail when people need it the most.

This stamp set and all the other November products can be purchased tomorrow night at 10 PM at www.papertreyink.com. More inspiration for Inside & Out Well Wishes can be found below:

  1. Oh you brilliant woman. Amazing. How did you even find all those images from different sets that would work together so well? I've never even thought of using the "Home Made" windows for the INSIDE of the house. And the TV for company - a witty take on how we all recuperate.

Your second card is a dynamite version of the "take one" stamp. Your color palette is different, and totally fun and eye-catching. That card would lift anyone's spirits, way up.

Thanks for leading your talents to the design team. You have a wit and charm achieved by few.

  5. I don't want to shortchange the second card because it is wonderful, but the first card is amazing with all of the little details you included. That plug put the card over the top. Thanks for showing that the sentiment can be readily masked.

  10. After being sick the past 10 days, your TV and chair card clicked with me. Loved it! I liked your masculine card, too, with the tabs torn off. Such a clever way to make a get well card!

  12. You definitely put some thought into your first card, Erin, and it is loaded with details from several stamp sets. "Vedging" on the couch in front of the TV is very popular when we're trying to recuperate. And, yes, your second card definitely reminds me of ads on a bulletin board but this is much sweeter.
