Introducing Sparkle & Shine, NEW! Shaker Shapes dies

Now, I know how excited ya'll are about Betsy's products this month for the September Papertrey Ink Release. That lady is a creative force and in a class all her own. Her new Sparkle & Shine stamps and new Shaker Shape Dies are going to become your favorites to work with. I see a lot of shaker cards being made and sent here in the next few years and beyond.

As you can see, these new products allow you to be effortlessly creative. I used the Ornament Shaker Shape Die and Clear Cardstock to create this card accent that is completely see through.

Check out the patterned paper. This month we have a pad of 8.5"x11" patterned cardstock to use with the Sparkle and Shine stamps. I adore how you have preprinted A2 sized sections to use on cards. All the circles on my card are printed on the paper for me. I didn't have to do a thing other than put adhesive on the back.

Here's a close up of my shaker. I created this by gluing together several Aqua Mist cardstock cuts from the Shaker Shapes: Ornament Die. Before I glued on the top and bottom layer, I placed a cut of Clear Cardstock so my shaker filler was contained.

What is my filler? You are going to love this story. Two holidays ago, I was at my local grocery store when I wondered through the bakery department. They had a clear box of these sprinkles to be used on cupcakes. Check out the colors. Remind you of anybody? Pink, aqua, chartreuse, red, white...they screamed Betsy Veldman at the time to me. And still do. Every time I see them on my pantry shelf I think of her. And thus, these are my official "Betsy Veldman Sprinkles". I thought it would be appropriate to use them on this project.

On top of my shaker, I die cut the word "sparkle" from the new Sparkle and Shine Words Die. They've got a treatment of Wink of Stella pen and then a coating of Glossy Accent. They indeed "sparkle and shine".

The main accent has a bit of a secret. It can easily be untied from the card and used as a real ornament. Noticed the stamped part of my sentiment (from Sparkle & Shine Holiday Additions)  is actually stamped on my patterned paper panel. Because the ornament is completely see through, you don't know until you untie it.

My initial thought was to have the ornament threaded through the cut brackets on the Card-Basics 1 Die.  The ornament ended up being too long for that. Only my panel was already cut. I ended up using it anyway. Liked the way it looked. So those slits here are merely decorative. Form over function.

Here's my ornament on its own, ready to be hung on a tree. The word "sparkle" works well all alone, even with the rest of the sentiment left behind on the card.

Next up, a non-holiday card using the Shaker Shapes: Square, Sparkle & Shine stamp set, and the Sparkle and Shine Patterned Paper.

I didn't make a shaker this time around, just used that stitched square die to house my sentiment. It has great detail and works quite well on its own.

I stamped the word "Sparkle" onto a Hibiscus Burst cut of the Photo Finisher Dies and made them sparkle again with a Wink of Stella pen.

Here's a close of of the "filler" die included in the Shaker Shapes : Squares. Confetti galore. I love the streamers cut out of silver foil paper.

That wraps it up for me. Looking forward to seeing what you create with these products. Aren't they fabulous?!?!?
