Monthly Moments: December + More Love Notes

We've made it to the halfway point for the December PTI Countdown. There's no messing around now...it is full time inspiration from all of us for the next four days. Hold onto your hats.:)

My first project for you today is using the December Monthly Moments products. Hard to believe we are almost at the end of the year with these. Not to mention it's exciting to find out what Heather has in store for us next, right? To celebrate December, I made a holiday card invitation using stamps from the Monthly Moments: December set and dies and the new Keep It Simple: You're Invited.

I think of the Journaling Card Pads that come out every month as I would any other paper pad in my stash. And by that, I mean, use it all you can for those beautiful patterns! The new Hello There dies that Nichole introduced yesterday contains a 1/4" by 4.25" die. And did I ever put it to use on this card. It's going to be a favorite of mine, I can tell already. Made quick work of cutting those thing strips of patterned paper to add to my card.

I've got three new Love Notes cards for you today as well. I could hardly wait to show you this one! I had a blast putting it together yesterday afternoon. My goal was to build a garden scene around the Adirondack chairs. I think I did pretty good. I used LOTS of different stamp sets. There's Garden Variety 1 and 2, Topiary Trio, Willow Tree, Life is Beautiful, and a sentiment from Happiness In Bloom. I don't know about you, but I want to be sitting in one of those chairs in this scene with a good book and a glass of wine. Sigh. The thought is comfort to the soul here in chilly Maryland as we stare down a long winter.

I used the Picket Fence Die as part of my scene. Scale-wise, it didn't work with the pointed ends, so I just cut those off. Works better now.

Also, the chairs look pretty good placed right underneath a solo willow tree as well. Just if you are looking for other ideas for them.

Dawn showed you the amazing two step, ornate "love" included in Love Notes. I'm here today to show you more. Man, these two stamps used together exceeded my expectations. You don't know how things are going to really look until you stamp them for the first time. I was blown away. Now I'm craving more!

I placed my "love you forever" underneath the In the Woods Cover Plate. I know ya'll love this one! Two birds from Tick Tock represent my couple. Although, this card could be used for relationships that aren't romantic. I can see giving it to any family member. Especially a child or a mother because there is a big and little bird.

To embellish my tree, I added berries from the Harvest Berry die set. There is one die that cuts like ten little berries at once. I added them to my card and topped with Glossy Accents. I find myself using this particular die a lot...it's a handy one to have.

Next up, I have another big love card for you. I was thinking as I made it up, that this is a card you can give to just one person. It doesn't need to go to a couple. Do you know anybody who is just so loving and giving of themselves? You spend time with them and you walk away thinking, "I want to be a better person" because they are so inspiring? My husband is just such a person:). I have learned so much from him.  I'm a very lucky girl.  I can see giving this card to him.

There is a bit of heat embossing on the background. I like delicate clear embossing on Dark Chocolate cardstock. It has a leather-like look. I went in that direction here with Basket of Blessings.

Just to show you another way to stamp the large "love", I added BB: Text Style to it on this card. First, I stamped the solid stamp in Fine Linen. Next, I masked off the rectangle and stamped BB: Text Style in Classic Kraft. Lastly, I stamped the scrolly "love" in Dark Chocolate. There are several families of graduated color like this in the PTI Perfect Match Colors. You have many options for recreating this look in a rainbow of colors.

Thanks for joining me today. All these new products and more will be available in the Papertrey Ink Store on December 15th, 2014 at 10 PM EST. While you wait, check out more inspiration below. And I'll see you more over the next three days with additional projects.
