Up, Up, and Away + Silhouette + Hero

What do they call this on Glee? A mash-up? Don't they know the scrappers and papercrafters have been doing it for years?

My last Up, Up, and Away card. The moment I saw this ray of sun card die cut from Silhouette (really, it's part of a seed packet by Samantha Walker), I knew I had to team it up with some of the new PTI products. And you know, while I'm at it, the Hero Arts Cloud background could work fabulously as well. Lined envie using the new liner die makes me all giddy with all the coordination. Hmmmm. I like...I like a lot. :)

Supplies:
Perfect Match Ink: Pure Poppy
Patterned Paper: Beautiful Blooms
Other Ink: Close to My Heart Crystal Blue (I think???)
Silhouette Machine for cutting card and sun

Thank Yous

Had a few notes of thanks that needed to be sent out. Finding the mat stack dies over at PTI to be indispensable. So easy to add some flair. All the dies really. Looking forward to seeing what comes out next month. Always blown away.

 Supplies:

Stamps: Butterfly Dreams, Big and Bold Wishes, Daily Designs Mixed Messages, Round and Round 2010 Anniversary Set
Perfect Match Ink: Hawaiian Shores and True Black
Dies: Butterfly, Small Scallop Border, and Mat Stack 1
Paper: Green Boutique

In other news, guess who's on bedrest for a few days? Yeah. I have watched a ridiculous amount of television today. There was Oprah, Brothers and Sisters, True Life: Newlyweds (hello, probably should discuss how much debt you are in BEFORE you get married), and I'm currently waiting for Glee to come on. The highlight of my couch potato binge was the movie Valentine's Day being available on pay-per-view.  How do women do this for months and months and months?  Have an appointment on Thursday and will either be given the thumbs up to resume regular activity or earn myself another ticket to the hospital. Had a lovely visit there for a few hours yesterday. Yeah baby, having fun over here! :)

Thanks for the Lift

I just love that sentiment. Covers a lot of occasions doesn't it? I'll be wearing this stamp out...and that's practically impossible. :)

I went super traditional on this card. Blue sky, white clouds. Easy peesy. Copic coloring and the silver lined clouds. This was actually my practice attempt at them, thought for sure there would be a learning curve. Nope. Worked perfectly the first time. Try it. Remember to place your die on the cutting side down on your project and trace with a fine tip glue pen. Remove die and sprinkle with glitter.

I was asked in all those wonderful comments from the other day (thank you!) about the origin of the "Happy 4th of July" sentiment. It's from Vintage Picnic. One of my new acquisitions. :) I went to IKEA yesterday and got some more stamp storage for all these CD cases. I'll show you soon, just need to get it all assembled.  I can't wait to get things all organized.

Supplies:

Stamps: Papertrey Ink's Up, Up, & Away and Fancy Flourishes
Perfect Match Ink: Pure Poppy, True Black
Perfect Match Cardstock: Spring Rain
Papertrey Ink dies: Clouds and Balloons
Copic Markerts

Dimensional adhesive

May Papertrey Ink Release

All the ladies thought we'd share our projects on our blogs tonight. Thanks for stopping by and seeing them.

Up, Up, and Away is probably in my top 5 favorite PTI stamp sets. Especially with those dies! Incredible. To create the "silver" lining on the cloud, place your die flat side up on your card front and trace with a fine glue pen. remove die and sprinkle with glitter. Totally fun. I'll have a few more cards later this week featuring this set. Can't. Stop. Using. It.

Another note: check out my sun. Its a circle punched from paper impressed with Sunshine. Pretty sweet.

I've been waiting for three Year of Flower sets in the same season to make a card like this. YAY! The rectangle stamp from Text Boxed works well as a frame. Colored watercolor pencils teamed up with Copics help the soft colors pop on the kraft cardstock.

I'm a 4th of July baby, so I immediately saw fireworks with a few of the arrows from To the Point. The "sticks" are made from the skinny long arrow having the point masked off. Dot Spot makes the best fireworks.

Take Three: Summer inspired an unique color combo for me.

Had fun with textures and dies when featuring Aloha. Did you see Ashley's postcard background? WOWZA!

Clickity Click Click on over to the other blogs from some great new inspiration. I'm staying up to see it myself!

More Baby Gifts

There's a serious baby boom around here.  Not me yet, but there are a few new playmates for this little one. Consider yourself warned, unless you want to be pregnant, stay out of my neighborhood and don't drink the water.

Packaged up a few goodies for the babies. There's a boy and a girl. Fun to play with making the same card/bag but with a few variations. See if you can spot them.

One difference that is pretty obvious is that the boy card is a pocket card instead of the traditional folded card. Yeah. I accidentally sewed it closed! Oops. My brain is scrambled. Did it the right way with the little girl card.

3D baby booties are a Silhouette cut file. ADORABLE. Splurge on the adhesive and use as much Scor-Tape as needed to get these to work. You'll thank yourself.

Handmade & Homemade Just for You

Tonight the Papertrey Ink design team is featuring Lisa's new Just For You stamp set. It's a handy little collection of labels and images that make giving homemade gifts easier. Now, if you are here and checking it out, I know you are already a paper crafter. It's a rare paper crafter who only stops there when it comes to the creativity. Chances are, you probably have other hobbies as well. We just can't help our crafty selves, can we? These stamps have got all your bases covered.

I'm a bit of a reluctant knitter. Haven't broken out the needles in over a year. This assignment was exactly what I needed to get back into it. Perfect thing for a pregnant lady to be doing while having her feet up. I decided to knit some basic bibs for my new little one. I figured I'd wrap it all up for my post and then bust it open myself for Baby E.  Once you bibs like this, it's hard to go back. Nice and cushy with the option of making them wider and longer than store bought.

The problem? I liked how things looked all packaged up so much that I decided to save it for a baby gift instead. It's seriously cute. Guess I have to just sit in a recliner a few more nights and make Baby E some more bibs.  Twist my arm. Finding it really relaxing.

Folded up two bibs in a mini loaf pan from the Dollar Spot at Target. Surprisingly easy to cover with paper. Now I need to stock up on some more. :)  I included a baby spoon to go along. Would be even nicer to buy a heirloom version for an extra special shower gift. The loaf pan got me thinking about the "Bun in the Oven" stamp from Favor It Baby. Tied everything together nicely when used under stamps from Lisa's new set.

Now, you have to make a matching card as well. Just. Can't. Stop. Bib shape is a Silhouette cut. I'm so in love with that Dotty Biscotti paper. I didn't leave a single PTI  baby stamp set unused for this project. Used Baby Button Bits and Bitty Baby Blessing here as well.

Bib pattern is from Mason Dixon Knitting. Super simple garter stitch. Yarn is the Sugar N'Cream line you can get at pretty much any craft store. One ball makes a bib. At $2 a pop, pretty good deal.

Supplies available on May 15th: Mat Stack II die, Just for You stamp set, Linen and Canvas Impression Plate
Supplies already available: Favor It Baby, Bitty Baby Blessings, Baby Button Bits, Dotty Biscotti Paper, Pure Poppy Grosgrain Ribbon, Dark Chocolate, Lemon Tart, and Pure Poppy Ink, Kraft, Pure Poppy, and Lemon Tart Cardstock

Be sure to check out everybody else's blog for some more projects using this stamp set. I'm excited to see myself:

Banners and PTI

I LOVE banners. Love 'em. Even bought a few pairs of low ankle socks at Target the other day with a banner design on them. You know they've hit the mainstream if you can buy them on $1 socks at Tar-Jay. I probably should be looking for the next big thing, but just adore them too much.

You can use Mini Scrapbook Tabs and the large scallop die by PTI to create your own banners for cards and projects. The tabs fit inside the large scallops. Now if you cut the scallop border just about 1/8 of an inch above where the scallops join, you create enough give in the paper to make things flexible. Swag those banners without any difficulty. Pretty sweet, huh?

Supplies:

Stamps: Mini Scrapbook Series Tabs, Fillable Frames 2, Dot Spot by PTI
Large scallop border by PTI
Perfect Match Ink: Pure Poppy, Wild Hibiscus, Melon Berry, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise
Vintage Button: Wild Hibiscus
Perfect Match Cardstock by PTI: Spring Rain

Teacup Invites

Do you ever have noncrafty friends asking for some crafty help? My best girlfriend claims to be the least creative person on the planet. So when she asked for me to help make her daughter's birthday invites the same weekend I'm on strict orders to keep my feet up, I found the perfect opportunity to torture her a bit. Sure. Come over. We'll make invites. But you're doing most of the work darlin', 'cause I can't. Oh what fun to watch her squirm and order her around a bit:). And of course, watch the look of amazement on her face when she's introduced to dies with matching stamps and a Silhouette machine.

There's a local place called Sunflower Studios where she's having the party. It's a pottery studio/tea house. Blue teacups and sunflowers match their logo. No other inspiration was needed for the invites. Like shooting fish out of a barrel.

Got paper on sale. We made 10 invites for least than three dollars. Ah, the beauty of papercrafting. I might just bring her over the dark side yet.

Supplies:

Teacup card die: Silhouette cut file
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II and Tea for Two by Papertrey Ink
Die: Beautiful Blooms I by Papertrey Ink
Perfect Match Ink: Summer Sunrise and Dark Chocolate
