Are you guys still with us here on the final day of the Papertrey Ink Anniversary celebration? What are we going to do with ourselves come tomorrow?:) HA! I'll tell you what I'll be doing...catching up on some sleep and enjoying what is forecasted to be some nice weather. I am DYING to take the kids to the park. What a difference in attitudes that's going to make around here...most of all in Mommy's.
Bad weather is good for stamping and getting projects done, however. And that's a good thing too. Today I've got my Delightful Doily projects for you, in all their lacy frilly loveliness. Now, vintage is a hat that doesn't really fit on my head all that well. So I decided to take it in another direction. Remember the spirograph toys you used to have as a kid? Reminded me of the doily stamps and had me itching to color in patterns the doilies created.
I've used the Fresh Snow ink, Ocean Tides Copics, and kraft cardstock combination before. LOVE it. The combination of that particular ink and the Copics, muted on the dark cardstock gives almost a batik look here. Very ethnic/bohemian. Doesn't say vintage to me at all. Digging the size of the new Think Big Sentiments #1. Somethings you don't get excited over until you use them...and then you become the biggest fan. Now my wish list for BIG sentiments is as long as my arm.
Here's a bit of an upclose look at the coloring. It's very easy because there is no shading with multiple markers. Glitter domed sticker is from Michael's. First time using these lovelies as well. I will be back for more.
I created a matching tag to go along with the card. The Ocean Tides circle is punched out at 1.5". The traditional 1.75" would work too. And just to throw some more numbers at you, I layered a 2.5" Limitless Layers die on the new Tag Sale #4. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages. Very nice to have a matching option for the Think Big Favorites, no?
Next, I busted out the Doily Details dies and the new Parisian Doily for a card that has some Latin flavor to it. Big, bright, juicy colors layered on top of each other is all it takes to make your own fiesta. We throw a lot of margarita and tamale fueled birthday parties (and yet we're French Canadian/Irish/German...go figure) on my side of the family, so this would be very appropriate.
Double Ended Banner die holds a Limitless Layer cut frame in place. The flower there was left over from another project that you'll see with the Release. Sometimes the perfect thing is already sitting on your desk.
A Birthday Bash Sentiments stamp fit nicely in this space.
Thanks for stopping by. I've got more stuff for you next week--a video and another podcast. Busy busy around here. And so are the other ladies. Be sure to hop on over to some other blogs to see different creative spins on these new products.

ReplyDeletei'm trying to convince myself i don't need the doily stamp set... your first card isn't helping with that goal. love the colors and using the markers on the kraft! great job!
ReplyDeleteWOW Erin, you've taken these doily stamps to a whole other level with your ethnic spin!!! LOVE your projects, so colorful and fun! And yes, I sure do remember my spirograph, gosh I loved that toy!

I love the details of the doily images. Your cards are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove your designs. Taking the doilies from a vintage feel (not my thing either) to fresh and modern is lovely. These are on my list!
ReplyDeleteI like the bright, cheery colors used on the one card.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful projects Erin. Love both cards today using doilies. That big birthday wishes card makes me smile all over! :) Thanks for sharing your creative talent and inspiration.

ReplyDeleteEveline.
These are very pretty - I love the sparkly accents!
ReplyDeleteI especially loved the kraft and blue with the white doilies!
ReplyDeleteFabulous color combination on the first card. You've truly disguised the doily with the coloring going a whole new direction with the stamps. The second card is great, too, but the first is just phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteGreat, great color combos, and BEAUTIFUL projects! You really demonstrate how much color can do for a project. TFS.
ReplyDeleteI do love that first card! The color combo is beautiful and I love how you colored in the doily. I too don't do vintage, but I could do that!:)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the "Latin flavor" one especially. Who said that doilies had to be vintage? TFS!
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS work! Everything is so bright and happy. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI gotta have this new stuff.................... now to have a plan to get them.....
