I'm loving the enthusiasm (and questions!) about the trio of Party Popper products from the November Papertrey Ink Release. (Side note, I'm trying so hard not to make a typo on the name...it would be an entirely different stamp set if it was Party Poopers...ha!) I'm back today with another card, a larger box, and a video. Busy busy.
Here's a Christmas card using on the top half of the poppers. Each one individually has a die cut letter from the Uppercase Block Alphabet Set. The body of the poppers were stamped directly on white panel, but the ends are die cut and stamped for some dimension. Especially considering a few are on popdots. There is a bow included in the stamp set, but I find that a real bow made up of Baker's Twine or ribbon adds a level of realism. "Christmas" is from Wonderful Words: Holiday and is stamped on a Pure Poppy card base.
Next up, something that will really blow your mind. Did I mention that the Favor It 8 die is expandable? Here is an expanded popper next to a regular sized popper from yesterday. The new one is almost three inches longer.
How did I do it? I just custom cut and scored the middle tube portion and combined it with two die cut edges. There's a video to show you how to do this and gives you a general overview on how to assemble the poppers.
More on the pink popper. This one I envision going to a little girl for her birthday, thus the color scheme. Eliza and I call call any combination of turquoise, purple, and hot pink as "mermaid colors". I used 2012 Birthday Tags and Melissa's new Buttoned Up stamps on the front. Borders cut from the Small Scalloped Border die cover up the joints of the popper and give it a fanciful look.
It's what the popper contains that I love the most. We've got a "party in a box" for one lucky little girl. There's birthday candles, balloons, a roll of Rollos wrapped in patterned paper, confetti, die cut numbers to represent her age (5!), homemade felt barrettes, and a little banner that says "Happy Birthday". Happiness in a popper. It's a very easy and affordable little gift that really packs a punch. I want to be the little girl receiving this.
That's it for me today. I'll be back tomorrow with more. In the meantime, I'm happy to answer any questions or take requests for what you'd like to see Party Poppers or the Favor It 8 Box paired up with for the remaining days of the countdown. Be sure to "pop" on over to some more PTI blogs for today's inspiration. And remember, all products you see during the release (including Party Poppers and Favor It 8 die) are available at www.papertreyink.com on November.
