Birthday Style

Time for another Papertrey Ink Group Post. Today is all about birthdays. If you are like me, birthday cards and gifts are the main reason why your stamping supplies get broken out and used. New products that help make that process fun and easy are always appreciated. This month's release is absolutely no exception.

What I have here is a card using Maile's new Birthday Style stamps and dies and Heather's new Wonderful Words: Birthday product. It just happens to match my gift wrap. Check out that pink handle. There's the big surprise reveal for the day--Get a Handle on It dies. Fabulous! The colors and the use of the Loop Cover Plate (also a March release) tie the two items together.

I bet you are wondering what I have wrapped up in that Enchanted Evening box. It's a book! Books are the main item I give as gifts. In fact, this little ensemble is going to a friend as soon as I see her. I just cut to pieces of cardstock to create the wrap, leaving the top open to slide a book down.

By the way, "Someone Knows My Name" is an EXCELLENT read. Rated five stars between myself, my two very discerning reader friends,  my mother, and my sister. Highly recommend.

Here's a close up of the details on my book wrap. I choose the colors because I remember my friend mentioning that she likes pink and navy together. That's a good papercrafting tip--pay attention to those little hints your loved ones give. If you don't have a good memory, write them all down in a file somewhere so when it is time to create something for them in mind, you can personalize it and really blow them away with your thoughtfulness.

Back to the wrap. I used the new Cover Plate: Loops to add some interest against that navy color. It looks incredibly sharp, stylish, and high end.

And how about the new Get a Handle on It Dies? Isn't it a handy way to put a practical or decorative handle (in my case) on your projects? Looks very boutique-y. I did a little stamping with the new To You, From Me stamp set on the Limitless Layers 1.75" Circle dies. The sentiment is from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday released last month.

Balloons mean birthday around the Lincoln household. I always buy a dozen helium balloons for everyone's birthday, so it was natural for me to want to create with the festive balloon stamp and die from Maile's new Birthday Style set. I strung them together with Baker's Twine and used the bow stamp and die (oh...this one is going to come in handy!) to tie them to a "fence" made from the new Loops cover plate. The "birthday" die cut is this month's Wonderful Word installment from Heather.

Hope you want to start stamping those much-in-demand birthday cards. Click on over for more inspiration from the rest of the time. And remember, all the new products you see today will be available at www.papertreyink.com on March 15th. Not much longer to wait!

  3. Beautiful projects. Even though I like the darker colors I don't use them very often. You have inspired me to give it a try more often.
