Bountiful Banners

It's Group Post Day 1 for the March PTI release. I've got a fun and easy card project to help introduce Maile's Bountiful Banners stamp set. This stamp set, with three types of solid banners, is almost like a secret treasure. The more you use it, the more you realize how absolutely versatile it can be. I was surprised by how well it paired up with one of my favorite sentiment sets. It was almost like they were made to go together. Let me so you how...

First, we were supposed to come up with an inspiration piece for this challenge. I had this one on Pinterest on one of my boards. I was initially thinking I could combine words from various stamp sets to make a phrase. One of the words would of course be on a banner to match my inspiration piece.. Seemed like a smart idea. But it was a bit tricky to come up with a phrase that wasn't completely nonsensical. And so I'm a bit frustrated and flipping through my stamps to try to come up with something--anything--that could make this process go a bit faster. And then I spy Sentiment Signs. It was like the heavens parted!!! The width of sentiments is the same as the double banner. Yes! I was in business.

Go ahead...tell me that these two stamp sets aren't made for each other? I die cut and stamped the banner in Melon Berry on white cardstock. With just a little masking, I was able to stamp two of the words in the Sentiment Sign stamp in Terracotta Tile on the banner. The on a Mega Mat Stack 1 die cut, I stamped the same Sentiment Sign stamp in Melon Berry and adhered my banner in place on top. Beautiful.

The sentiment is capped off with a half circle vine and flower from the upcoming To You, From Me. The little scroll is from an oldie but goodie--Boxes, Bags, and Tags.

Now with six Sentiment Sign stamps and six Mega Mat Stack dies, you can use this design again and again with endless variation.

I know there are more "perfect matches" out there in the PTI stamp catalog. Click on over with me to see what the other girls have come up with:
