August Release Projects

Time to share all the goods for the August Papertrey Ink release. It was a fun month to create. I'm 100% a summer person and dread cooler weather coming, but I have to say, all these autumn stamps and colors really have put me in the right state of mind for back to school, pumpkin patching, and apple picking. Life imitates art, I suppose.

Mum's the Word. It was fun to play peek-a-boo with the blossoms and leaves of the open aperture Mat Stack 6 die.

Boutique Borders: Sympathy. I have been needing a stamp that says "I'm here for you". So often I just want to let people know they have my support. I teamed it up here with Coffee Cozy Detail Collection dies, the Aida Impression Plate, and the hoop from Stitched Sentiments. I had envisioned doing this particular treatment ever since I learned those dies were going to be released. Two inks of the frame from this month's Boutique Borders embellish my Topnotch Twill and Lace Bouquet helps to give it a bit of asymmetry, which was what was needed to break up all that evenness.

Basket of Blessings. Seriously, the spray of flowers is so appealing in it's folk art goodness. I stamped two in mirror image along a horizontal plane, and embossed resist in blue and gold. A die cut (Boutique Borders: Thank You) covers up any messy overlap of the images. A blue Copic marker added interest to just the leaves.

Apple Prints and Trick or Treat. I had to team these two up just because of the apple bobbing reference. As you can see, my apple is a little rotten at the core.:) The spider button (bought at Joann's last fall) works so well because you can almost be fooled into thinking his legs are the seeds. Only they aren't! Creepy. I stamped my apple in Scarlet Jewel over Pure Poppy cardstock to give it a more of a "poisoned apple" look.

Nuts for You and Autumn Pattern Pieces. A scattering of fall themed  items. I took the face image from this month's Polka Dot Parade #8 to give that one little nut with something to say a personality.

Bubble Talk and Wonderful Words: Thank You.  This came together in like 5 minutes flat. Got to file that away for a time when you need it. Coffee Cozy Detail Collection dies hang off the side to match the heart in the bubble.

Polka Dot Parade #7, Notched Star Banner, and Tricky Trio Dies. This was a fun one to create using Gold and Black shimmer paper, Tremendous Treats: Halloween, and the new Tremendous Treats: Halloween dies. Seems I have a thing for heat embossing this month.

That's is all she wrote. No time to rest, time to dive right into final preparations for Stamp-A-Faire! So much fun and goodness there.

  1. I love every single card! The folk art with gold embossing and blue leaves me weak in the knees, and that adorable Halloween card with Spook and those great images from 'Tremendous Treats'! Can I be your child - just for Halloween? (I would enjoy it year round, but rumor has it you already have that job covered.) Thank you for sharing your creative light with the world - again.
