Day 2 of Kid Kudos and Kid Kudos Additions

Back for more? HA! I've got more to show you when it comes to my stamp sets coming out on September 15th at Papertrey Ink. I've been crafting like crazy over here. Too many ideas! And no...that wasn't me who passed out on the family room couch last night at 9 PM out of sheer creative exhaustion.  Nope, not me.:) The frenzy hasn't caught up to me yet!

Today I have two cards that feature sentiments from Kid Kudos combined with elements from other stamp sets. The options of combining these sentiments with stamps already in your stash are endless. In order to personalize my projects more, I've busted out the Kid Kudos Additions set for additional creative possibilities.

Kid Kudos Additions is a little $5 set that will help you avoid looking like you are "playing favorites" if you have more than one kid. I know how it is out there in the field there fellow moms...you've got to be careful sometimes with how you word things. Kid Kudos Additions will help you get very specific when you are showering praise and encouragement. In it, you'll find the written form of the numbers one through sixteen and the phrase "year old". So you can take a sentiment like "You are pretty much my favorite little girl" and turn it into "You are pretty much my favorite six year old little girl".  Ah...sort of like making sure you get three lollipops of the same color when you roll through the drive up window at the bank. Just trying to avoid hurt feelings and sibling fighting. Got to think two steps ahead of the kidlets at all times.:)

Y'all know I have a little Sassy Pants on my hands around here. She keeps me on my toes more than the boys do. And I love her to pieces. She pretty much looks like this little princess from Tremendous Treats: Birthday. (That is, when she allows me to do her hair. Eyeroll.)  I created the phrase "You are my most favorite three year old little girl" using both Kid Kudos and Kid Kudos Additions with her in mind. Kids are all about their ages, so it is fun to throw that in when you are creating for them.

Got a girl who wouldn't like the phrase "little girl" applied to them? Mask off the "little" part of the stamp and just stamp "girl". Or use alphabet dies or stamps from other sets to change it up even further.

And I was thinking as I sat down to type this blog post up, you can have lots of different "favorites". Try combing the words "preschool" and "teacher" from School Times Additions to say "You are my most favorite preschool teacher". Lots of ideas with these.

And here's the third inside sentiment in use with some embellishing from Super Stars. The whole thing (You are my most favorite three year old little girl...times like a hundred) is pretty goofy sounding in the ears of most adults. But I've got to tell ya, the kids eat this up with a fork and spoon. And when you are creating for them, you might as well speak "kid" and really make them melt inside. Works every time.

Next up, I thought I'd show you how you can take Kid Kudos and Kid Kudos Additions and make a project for somebody a bit older. You can use any number stamps or dies to create a card for a recipient of any age. I took the By the Numbers Border die set to cut out the number 37, stamped "year old" from Kid Kudos Additions on the Countdown Details die, and then stamped the rest of the phrasing from Kid Kudos onto the Notched Star Banner die. The hubby is turning 37 here in a few weeks, so this one is ear notched just for him. Although it would have been funnier if I had chosen the number 40 instead!

I'll be back tomorrow with more. Thanks for stopping by today. Stop by some of the other PTI blogs for more inspiration using the September PTI release.

  1. You are right, can't look like you are playing favorities even though certain kids need more love at certain times. I've got twins in my bunch too which complicates it even more!
Great cards....can't wait to see the full reveal of your sets.
