Come All Ye Faithful

Group Post Day 1 here at Papertrey Ink for the October release. I can hardly wait to see what everybody's been creating with Come All Ye Faithful and Come All Ye Faithful Additions. Such a honor to get your sets chosen to be featured in this way. And I'm so excited for you to see other people besides myself create with them.

As for me, I've still got two projects to share with you as well today. Let me show ya....

We've got dogs wearing sweaters and the holidays. Of course we needed a sentiment from the Christmas carol classic, "Oh Baby, It's Cold Outside." (Have you heard Harry Connick Jr. sing it? SWOON!) My Boston Terrier/Rottweiler is cut out of Smokey Shadow Felt using the Come All Ye Faithful dies. Realistic texture, no? And instead of stamping the sweater with the sweater options from the stamp set, I decided just to cut the sweater die out of Berry Sorbet cardstock and use BB: Houndstooth (how appropriate...even the other supplies have puns) to give it a pattern. When you think of all the background sets in your collection, you know you've got a lot of possibility applying them the same way.

As for my background, I build it using the Stitched Snowflake die and last month's Two Feet Deep stamp set and Fancy Flakes dies. A grounding border of holes from the Stitching Lines dies prevents the pup from free floating on the card and matches up with the holes on the snowflake. All works together.

Here's a close up of all that great texture. And isn't it nice to have the option of using the die silhouette shape?

Next up, we have a card featuring what is possibly my favorite sentiment from the collection. And one I added rather last minute. Had to have it. This one can be found on the Come All Ye Faithful Additions set. Which is also were you find all the holiday accessories for the dogs.

This guy is all ready for the festivities to start. I bet his tail is a'waggin' something fierce. He is SO ready to get his party on. Where is the egg nog?

He is stamped in traditional holiday colors, which are Pure Poppy, New Leaf, and Pinefeather here in PTI Land. And I've used BB: Striped Sweater (great coordinate) to add some design and interest to the rest of the card.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to today. I smile when I get comments about how much ya'll are giggling and laughing over these silly dogs. They were a joy to create and I'm going to get a lot of happiness knowing you are out there enjoying them as much as I am.

Do you want to get your hands on these products? The Come All Ye Faithful collection can be purchased at 10 PM EST on October 15th at www.papertreyink.com.

  3. What a wonderful thing to have Erin and Papertrey working together. This set runs rings around the rest of the doggie sets out there. I absolutely love your verbal and visual sense of humor. Nothing makes a card more fun than a great pun, and you seem to always have a way with words. Thanks for leading your amazing talent to our endeavors. I predict a landslide of demand for this adorable set.

  4. THANK YOU SO MUCH for including a Doxie in your stamp set. I'm picking up my new Doxie puppy from the airport today and am so excited! I will have to purchase 2 of these sets and dies as I will wear them out, seriously. My new puppy's name is Bella and you can check out a picture of her on my blog. She's only 4 pounds and 2 ounces right now. I went to PetSmart yesterday and stocked up. She will be a little fashionista with her Martha Stewart clothes. She has beautiful new pink leashes and her food and water bowls are to die for! I can't thank you enough for putting in a Doxie. Hugs!

  9. Erin, thank you so much for creating this set. It is amazing. We have two little fur kids who run our world and it's so nice to have a set dedicated to them. Other stamp companies have "dabbled" in pet-themed sets, but none have been as complete and well-executed as these. You really hit it out of the park. I cannot wait to get my "paws" on this set. It will have an honored place on my desk for regular use! :-)
