A Little Inspiration and More Special Delivery

If you are stopping in for the first time this month, make sure you check out my blog post yesterday...we started the February Papertrey Ink countdown a day early due to our 7th anniversary festivities. I've got some projects featuring my three new stamp sets for the month. And I've got even more today.

Today, I want to focus a bit more on my sentiment set, A Little Inspiration. I curated this incredible collection of quotes and sayings because I have wanted to send more encouraging messages in the mail to those I care about. They are meant to uplift, inspire, and/or gently set straight with a bit of sunshine and good cheer. I hope you find that they fill a hole in your collection as well.

First up, a bright card featuring one of the many quotes from this set. I embossed the two part quote (Try Harder is a separate stamp if you want to stamp it in another color) with white embossing powder on Hawaiian Shores cardstock. How many of you have very been here? Definitely the case in this camp from time to time. Can even say that I've been at this particular crossroad with the stamp designing more than once. So glad I persevered.

I really love the design of this card. I got my Diagonal Additions dies recently. I die cut both the herringbone and chevron design into Winter Wisteria cardstock. I backed the negative design that was created with various colors of Papertrey Ink's grosgrain ribbon. All the colors combined have a certain 80's vibe to them, don't they? All those bright, vivid pastels.

Next up, a card that speaks to my reader's heart. The quote says, "The struggle is part of the story". Ain't that the truth? It's a nice reminder that when you are in the middle of a fight, to keep pushing through, because it is all a part of the journey.

I used the book stamps from Back to School to surround my quote. For a few , I die cut and elevated them on dimensional adhesive. They are in a visual triangle arrangement around the quote for subtle balance.

If you are familiar with some of my previous stamp sets, you know that I like to include a few small extension sentiments that can be carried over to the inside of cards.  I stamped one on the inside of this card. Book stamps carry over the theme from the front.

Next up, we have some of that gorgeous new PTI color at work. How do you like Tropical Teal? Isn't it gorgeous? Here I've used it as my main panel. I've taken another quote from A Little Inspiration and embossed it with white powder again. I've taken the die cut "You" from the Phrase Play # 1 die (coming this month) and cut it out of white cardstock. It covers up the stamped "you" and gives a large focal point to the card.

I've got my sentiment framed by the wavy lines from Circle Scribbles in Enchanted Evening. Some of the smaller detail stamps add interest. I used the same stamps, but inked up the backside with Versamark to create shadows. I like how "imperfect" the elements are...very free form and sketchy. It was an intentional choice to match up with the sentiment. Even if only for my own benefit. :)

Shifting gears, on to Special Delivery and Special Delivery Sentiments. How about turning that truck into a diaper delivery vehicle for a new baby card? There's a little bit of humor in the name of the diaper service...hopefully you'll get a little chuckle when you use it.

Included in Special Delivery Sentiments are two sizes of the words "Special Delivery" and two types of air slats like you find on air mail envelopes. I used the air slats that allow for the two color treatment. You see that with the Enchanted Evening and Blueberry Sky inks alternating in the border.

So, that's 3 types of trucks. 7 left to go. I still have a few surprises up my sleeve:). Check back over the next four days to see what other types of trucks you can make with Special Delivery. And would you believe my hubby and I were coming up with even more ideas over apple bacon pancakes this morning? Who knew a truck had so many possibilities?

All three of my new stamp sets, as well as the rest of fabulous February 2014 Papertrey Release will be available to purchase on February 15th at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com. More inspiration below and for the next four days. Stop back to see more.
