Introducing Uncorked

Welcome back to the first Group Post Day of the November Papertrey Ink. We've got an absolutely FABULOUS set for you today in Uncorked. I've been wanting a sassy, but classy wine set with dies. Nichole delivers all my wildest dreams with this one. I will be using this one a lot. A LOT I tell ya!

A bottle of wine is such a good gift for all sorts of occasions. I read somewhere once that the best kind of gifts are those that are consumable. They bring immediate pleasure and enjoyment, serve often as an indulgence we wouldn't often allow ourselves, and don't create a burden by lingering around, demanding attention or a decision. Sounds like wine fits the bill! Bring it on! Especially if we can make it look all fancy with a homemade wrap and card.

Here's my project for the day. I created both a wine tag and a card in the same colors. The card has the wine glasses and the tag has the wine bottles from Uncorked. They have a cohesive element by using the same colors in the same order.

On my card, I used both the previous released Wine Tag (in vellum) and Tag Sale #5  (in white cardstock) to create my focal point. Love the die cut words that are included in the Uncorked Die Collection. Looks exactly like a font you'd find on a champagne bottle. I especially like it cut out of gold foil paper for a little shine.

My wine glasses are cut out of vellum using the Uncorked Die Set. The wine is cut out of cardstock, stamped with a striped pattern, and placed on top of the vellum glasses to hide my adhesive.

I also used my Embroidered Borders on Smokey Shadow Cardstock, backed with the same gold foil I used on the die cut word. I have used this combo of stitching dies back with foil paper frequently. The flash of shine is subtle, yet oh-so luxe. Highly recommend.  This card is a little narrower than an A2 card. I hung the die off the edge as I ran it through my die cut machine to get a bit more space on the top and bottom.

Here's my matching wine tag. The bottle dies come in two pieces like this, with the idea being you put a sentiment in the open space where the wine label is supposed to be. This one sentiment is great for a girls' night out. Ain't that the truth. Next time we have wine night in the neighborhood, I'll be bringing this tag. :)

What's your favorite bottle of wine? I've got a soft spot for the Chateau St. Michelle Riesling. When I fetched my collected corks for styling this photo, most of them were from this bottle of wine! I remember visiting this winery in Washington State as a child. There are these huge koi ponds in front of the mansion there on the label. Two of them. Maybe three? Made an impression on me. Who'd have thought I'd grow up and love their wine.:)

An addition little idea for you because it is the holiday season and we are all searching for great gift ideas. I've got an idea for those parents with small children, seeing as I fit so nicely in this demographic. I'm using this idea for my three siblings because they are all in the same boat. Give a couple an "at home date night". I'll be buying a bottle of wine (decorated with Uncorked) and two puzzles from Dowdle Folk Art for each sibling and their spouse. This guy is a folk artist and he paints these wonderful travel pieces that get turned into puzzles. There are about 200 to choose from, so I'll be picking cities that hold a special significance to the recipients. As a parent of small kids myself, a quiet, relaxing night with my husband after the kids have gone to bed sounds just up my alley. Sitting doing a puzzle and drinking wine, is very relaxing and often leads to easy conversation. I say that from experience, as it is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I've got quite a collection of Dowdle Puzzles. I just finished Baltimore and getting ready to start Charleston. Love them. Wait until Black Friday, I'm sure they'll run a great special. Or if you are lucky, you can find them at Costco or Sam's Club.

More Uncorked inspiration below. You can add it to your collection in just a few short days. All the Papertrey Ink November products will be available on November 15th at 10 PM EST. Happy shopping!
