A Little Argyle

The other girls on the PTI design team did some amazing work with A Little Argyle. Definitely opened my mind to all the possibilities that it offers. Itching to use it more now once saw that all. Working on baby cards today/tomorrow and just might have to bust it out.

During all the release work, Hank was wearing a Gymboree polo shirt with green argyles across it along with some stitching. That was all the inspiration I needed! Actually really nice to sew, because you only have to cut the thread twice. Leave the needle and thread in but lift the foot and rotate the card at the points.

Another thing to note, the For the Graduate set is super versatile between the Mat Stack stamp and the bracket border. Maile took advantage of bracket stamp too, to spectacular results. I mean seriously, could that racing stripe on the car be any cuter. Bet you could do it with Distressed Stripes and some masking too.

The bracket stamp trick can be pulled off without any masking. You are so going to love trying it yourself. Here's how you do it:

1. Stamp your sentiment first.
2. Ink up the side of the bracket stamp opposite of the words "Class of", making sure you don't ink up the words or the other side.
3. Stamp the bracket and stripe on one side of the sentiment.
4. Ink up same side of bracket stamp again.
5. Stamp the bracket on the opposite side of the sentiment. Viola! Easy and no masking.

I'll have photos of this or even a video at some point, but currently stranded in a recliner for the night. :)
