October PTI Countdown: Merry Little Christmas

Hello Everybody! Here to check out some fabulous new Papertrey products for the October release? I'm here to show you the goods, so hold onto your hats.

I'm helping to introduce the Merry Little Christmas set by Becky Oehlers. It's a fun tree building set that includes one BIG tree image as the main stamp, as well as supporting image stamps and sentiments. Keep your eyes peeled, because there's a few other new goodies I'll be using as well.

Now, I figure you've seen your share of the Christmas projects. I've got two to show you. But let's first take a little break from the holiday season and check out a nonholiday card using this set. Check out that tree. It's HUGE. Fills up the span of a A2 card.

The birdies and leaves are part of Merry Little Christmas. When I first test stamped the tree image the idea of hanging a swing immediately leaped to mind. I was on the hunt for a stamp in my collection that could serve that purpose. Found it in the Outlines Alphabet set with the "L". Lines drawn with a black pen create the swing chains. A sentiment from "Friends 'Til the End" completes the project. I have one friend in mind who will be getting this in the mail soon. Miss you so much Lynn.

For my second project, I started out with the sentiment "Hang a Shining Star upon the highest bough". These little birdies look like they've bitten off a little more than they can chew when it comes to decorating the Christmas Tree. I filled in their bellies with white gel pen to stand out against the cardstock. Do you see what I see? A new color! Blueberry Sky is a medium tone blue that I've fallen completely in love with. Also using Heather's new patterned paper collection called Distressed Dots.

And lastly, I wanted to focus on the "little" idea in the "have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" sentiment from this set. It's my favorite Christmas song. Goes all the way back to a Sesame Street special when I was little. All the characters sang it while ice skating. I wanted to find something "little" from my collection I could match it up with. Found the answer in another of Becky's sets--Wonderfully Whimsical. Some Copic coloring brought it all to life. The star image on top of the middle tree is from Merry Little Christmas as well. The scroll image that nestles so nicely into Mat Stack 4 is from the new Holiday Big and Bold Wishes. Sidenote: The new Tiny Treats Christmas images would match up nicely with this sentiment too.

Hope you enjoyed my projects and are all excited about this month's countdown. It's as much fun as it gets for us stampers, aye? Be sure to check out other peeks around the PTI circle:

Betsy is featuring Holiday Big and Bold Wishes and Let It Sparkle.

Alli's no doubt getting all blingy with Let It Sparkle.

Heather's a busy girl this month with three stamp sets and a patterned paper collection.

Dawn read my deepest darkest unknown desires with On Ice. As a former figure skater, this one has already endured itself to me.

And of course, our fearless leader works her magic. How does she do it every month? I have no idea, but I suspect she's an alien from Planet Stampaholic sent here to Earth to brainwash us all into becoming amazing stampers. And I'm OK with that.
