January Release Projects

We made it to the last day of the Papertrey Ink January countdown. Whew! It was a sprint. But happy to do it. Always fun for me. I really do enjoy this little gig I've got going on.

It's time to show you the rest of my release projects featuring the January products.

Boutique Borders: Friends: This card features a new color combination for me: Scarlet Jewel, Royal Purple, and Classic Kraft. It might be hanging around. I stamped Dawn's new Boutique Border: Friends on Classic Kraft Simple Stripe and then die cut the middle with the Rounded Labels from Summer Camp. Perfect fit and allows you to introduce a second color to the frame.

Polka Dot Parade #12, BB: Diagonals, Diagonal Additions: I interspersed birthday sentiments between the candles for interest. Two out of the three are from Birthday Bash. Look through your stamp sets to see what else you have that will work like this. Mostly a matter of sentiment height. You want to closely match that to your candle width.

Flames are heat embossed with gold and then in the open areas I applied gold glitter.

BB: Diagonals was used at the top with a tone-on-tone application. I then used some of the Diagonal Additions to create a tab feature. I used Fresh Snow ink, but then intensified the bright white with applying a white Prismacolor pencil on top.

Life's Music and Polka Dot Parade Alphabet: I've always wanted a stamp that had the full Happy Birthday song on it and have been puzzled for years why there isn't one. And then I started making this card and remembered that the Happy Birthday song is copyrighted! Duh. Good thing you can create yourself by combining sentiment stamps.

Life's Music is stamped in Fresh Snow on a Sweet Blush background. It is a soft and sweet background for my song building from various sets. This card is for my friend (I try to kill two birds with one stone when working and use my projects). Her name stands out with the Polka Dot Parade Alphabet stamped in Berry Sorbet.

Wonderful Words: Friends, Figure of Speech, and BB: Diagonals: Come All Ye Faithful teams up really nicely with all the friendship themed products this month.

Here's a tip when you have a brand new cutting plate for your die cutter: use the small window of opportunity before your bottom plate gets all scratched up to use the flip side of your die cuts like I did here with Figure of Speech. It's a mirror image because I flipped it over. No scratches on the cardstock because my plate was brand new.

Four Square: I wanted to see if I could use this set and NOT have the main stamps be a square. Just to change it up and have another option. And here you go. They fill the bottom 3/4's of a Tag Sale #1 die. And Tag-its #3 and #12 fit the opening nicely.

And that's a wrap folks. Looking forward to next month when everything changes! It's Anniversary time at PTI and you just never know what Nichole has up her sleeve. Seriously...I'm still in the dark...I am just as excited as you to see new products and stamp series. As for me, it's going to be a big year. I've got stuff coming your way 11 out of 12 months! I best get to work on all that.

All the new product you see today and over the last five days will be available tonight at 10 PM EST for purchase at www.papertreyink.com.

  2. Beautiful Erin! I especially like the card with the gold embossed flames, love the way you stamped sentiments in place of some of the candles. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. one of the first thing I thought of with the candles is making Hanukah cards later this year, always looking for fresh new ideas for these cards

  4. I fell in love with the Come All Ye Faithful set and made so many cards with it at Christmas for gift sets for my Vet. We sadly had to put our dog to sleep just before Christmas but I still find this set comforting. I've been hoping for additions to the set and your design helps to fill that need

  7. I love all of your projects, but your brilliance of using four square on the tags made me say "Oh my gosh", out loud at Chick Fil-A this morning. :) Thanks for the inspiration!
