Fall Bowl Filler

Popping in here to share a little project I've been working on here and there when I can spare a few minutes. I wanted to take the Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit and use it for Halloween by pairing it up with some of my other stitching dies. What I came up with is a bunch of stuffed felt "bowl filler" that sits on my sofa table. It makes me smile every time I walk by it.

Fall Bowl Filler with Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit, Softie Expressions, Along Came a Spider, and Pumpkin Face  Stitching Dies by Papertrey Ink

For the stuffed stars  from the Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit, I created the fronts out fabric treated with Heat N' Bond and ironed onto a matching felt cut. The Stitched Pumpkin Face and Softie Expression Dies turned them into pumpkins and a black cat.

Candy Corn from Scissor Keeper Stitching Dies

Do you have any idea how I made the candy corn? It's the Stitched Scissor Keeper with the handles cut off! The front was made by cutting Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise, and Fine Linen felt into sections to be assembled on a white felt base. If I would ever do this again, I'd maybe make longer, over lapping sections so I wouldn't have that gap between the Summer Sunrise and Terracotta Tile felt. It's a learning process. Fortunately, you can learn from my mistakes before you do it yourself.

Buttons and a felt spider (Along Came A Spider Dies) decorate my candy corn.

The Softie Expression Dies can be used to add character to just about any stitching project.

Seasonal Stitches Pumpkin Face Fits Perfectly on the star from the Beaded Holiday Stitch Kit

This is my favorite. A terracotta tile Stitched Pumpkin Face on the Beaded Holiday Star cut from polka dot fabric. Will be making more of these soon. The buttons on the eyes really give it a homespun quality.

As paper crafters, I think we have this great quality of seeing possibilities and mix-and-match potential in our tools. If you take that mentality and apply it to all the stitching dies, you can come up with some really great projects! I hope you are inspired for a little fall crafting of your own.
