New Halloween Stitching Dies

It's the last group post day at Papertrey Ink for the August release. My new stitching dies are being featured. Cannot wait to see what the girls do with them. Always a treat and very inspiring. I might get stitch-y some more in the next few days. I would love to give tons of sweet felt Halloween gifts to everyone I know.

New Stitching Dies for August 2016 by Papertrey Ink

Today, I wanted to create a tabletop display featuring the dies in lots of different small projects. Create a whole display yourself or choose one or two projects as inspiration. I think this grouping would look really sweet on a console table.

Stitched Witch Boot plant stakes by Papertrey Ink

Let's focus on the Stitched Witch Boots, the only new stitching dies you haven't seen yet. How adorable are these? I'm just thrilled to be able to create with them. Lots of layers, lots of colors. Witch boots are one of my favorite Halloween themes. They can be used so many different ways. Here I have them sticking out of a small plant as plant stakes, at a jaunty angle. Would make a great grown up gift for Halloween. Calorie free.

Halloween pencils as plant stakes.

The "legs" are super easy. Just themed pencils, which are readily available this time of year. I just hot glued them on the backs of the boots and stuck them in my flower pot.

Stitched Circle Hole Dies and Stitched Witch Hat by Papertrey Ink

Next up, some Hoopla projects. These are perfect for gift giving at Halloween. Just a little thoughtful something that can be used year after year. On this little display, I used a three inch hoop. Before I put the felt directly in it, I used the Stitched Circle Holes Dies to cut the holes for just the circle as well as the "holes-only" die for the Stitched Witch Hat. You could make a whole series of seven like these for a whole display. Nine if you used the previously released Along Came a Spider and Stitched Pumpkin Face. It would be adorable.

Stitched Beaded Cauldron, Stitched Bat, and Stitched Candy Corn by Papertrey Ink

Next up, a large Hoopla option for you that could not be any easier. I used the Stitched Beaded Cauldron, Stitched Candy Corn, and Stitched Bat and sewed them onto paper tags using the Made-In-Minute Dies and Tag Sale # 10. They are just hot glued onto the fabric backing of the hoop.

No sew Hoopla pocket.

To create a simple pocket that you can slip your tags into on a hoop project,  fold over some fabric before you add the hoop. It gives a finished edge for very little effort.

Stitched Moon and Stars on Pint Sized Wrap Dies by Papertrey Ink

And lastly, a "snow globe" like project to leave out. Instead of using the Plain Pint Containers covered with the Pint Sized Wrap as a disposable food container, I choose to add a little stitching with the Stitched Moon and Stars dies to make it more of a decor piece.  I had so much fun creating the Petite Places Spook Manor Topper. These things are so adorable, they are meant to be displayed.

Petite Places: Spook Manor, Pint Sized Wrap Dies, and Stitched Moon and Stars

In order to make some of the filler on the Petite Places globe match the felt on the container, I cut leaves out of Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest felt from Shaker Shapes: Pumpkin. The perfect size! So cute. And helps tie it all together.

I hope you've enjoyed all the cozy felt Halloween projects. The dies are really affordable due to their small size. The small size also translates to quick and easy projects and lots of mixing and matching with all sorts of other dies and mediums. Quite fun to work with.

The girls have done wonders with them. Amy's penny rug? Laurie's adorable banner? And all the rest. My head is spinning. AMAZING. Got to make myself one of those! You can link to all the projects on Nichole's blog

All the new dies will be available on August 15th at 10 PM EST at www.papertreyink.com. Thanks for keeping me company this week. And you know you'll see me back next month when we start with all the Christmas projects. I've been a very busy girl. :)

  1. These are all adorable Erin! I can't wait to get my hands on several of them to make a cute Halloween banner (at least that is what I'm envisioning in my head anyway). Will you be putting together any printables / instructions (specifically for the cauldron and witch's boot)?

  10. I just received my witches boots dies and was in the process of cutting them out, and gosh I wonder why one boot die does not cut out, it just punches the holes? Help I just don't understand as I have never done the felt items before...thanks,

    1. Hey Barbara,

Happy to help. I do "holes only" dies to help you stitch the motif to whatever project you are working on. I pulled up a video for you of using the "holes only" and "holes and shapes" of the Coffee Cozy Detail Dies on the Coffee Cozy. It's at 5:25 in the video. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions.
