Sorry! Sorry! Been under the weather with a cold. Hank's naptimes have been turning into my naptimes. Not that naps are a bad thing, I'm a HUGE fan. We've got this nice comfy couch in our bedroom that beckons me to lay down and doze whenever I walk by it. I've been giving in. I think it's helped the cold, as it seems to have come and gone in record time, with only a cough remaining. Watching Hank and Matt like hawks in case they show any symptoms. The news really kinda freaks you out with all the H1N1 stuff. I should know better than to buy into it.
Any who, still have a few projects here and there despite everything. Nothing seems to delight my grandmothers more than photos of their great-grandson in the mail. He is a charmer. (Although, he's becoming quite the stinker as well. Anybody got any recommendations for child behavior/discipline books for toddlers? I need to tame the wild Midgee. And perhaps cocktail recommendations for mama to get through it all?)
So, I started with this negative frame for my Silhouette and copy/pasted/separated the inner frame from the main image.
Then I overlaid the inner frame on this photo holder, sized to hold 3x4 photos. This is the stuff I was talking about earlier when I said you can separate elements with Silhouette for the ultimate in creative control.
And this is what you get. Easy peesy.
Things just wouldn't do without a matching card.
I wanted bling in the holes of that loopy border, but that is like a whole metric crap ton of gems. Instead I used a hole punch and backed with glitter paper. How I LOVE glitter paper. American Crafts has a nice selection!
Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts, Papertrey Ink; Ink: Papertrey Ink; Punch: EK Success; Die Cuts: Quickutz Silhouette; Metal stud: Colorbok.
What else? Hmmmm. I hear there has been some commenting issues. Are all the old CK message board problems following me here? Maybe it is me?!?!?! I have my comment control completely open. Anybody got any advice?
And...do you want a pee in your pants laugh? Can't believe this actually happened. I'm still chuckling about it.
very cute erin!
ReplyDeleteLove it as always! So glad you are using the Silhouette. Maybe I will use mine a bit more with your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOn the behavior front, I do like the Love and Logic books and there is one written for the toddler/preschool years. Hsng in there!
Sounds like the terrible two's have hit. I think three is worse than two, but don't want to scare you. Be consistent and follow through on what you threaten, I mean say. The hard work of disciplining him now will pay off later.
ReplyDeleteVery cute photo holder and car, thanks for sharing.
lol about the cricut story!!
this is AMAZING! you clever, clever girl. love it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Erin!! Love it!

You are so talented. Thanks for sharing. As far as parenting books i recommend any by Kevin Leman. He is a funny read and has great advice. That's my 2 cents.
ReplyDeleteVery great concept--so creative. Glad you've come back with your blog and creative talent!! Also glad to see you are into the Silhouette--pure digital goodness;)
ReplyDeleteVery cute project Erin - and as to a following... I am sure there are plenty of us here! but I know I had issues posting in the begining - English Girl in NY - Jennifer
ReplyDeleteHaven't had any issues commenting. Maybe it was just a temporary glitch.
ReplyDeleteAs far as discipline, I have found that postive reinforcment is AWESOME! Also, if our kids cry or pitch a fit for something it is a hard and fast rule that they automatically cannot have whatever initiated the fit. That works to circumvent future fit throwing. Good luck! Someone said it already, but stick to your guns and be a Mom of your word or he'll call your bluff every time! :)
Have to say that you really are one clever lady! Love seeing all the cute stuff you do!
ReplyDeleteGlad your feeling better!
ReplyDeleteLove the project, thanks for the inspiration...Viv
