Super Personalized

When somebody sends you a watercolored  birth announcement they painted by hand to hang in your nursery, a thank you note "off the rack" doesn't really get the job done. Stamping to the rescue, yet again. I certainly hope she gets a smile on her face when she gets it in the mail.

Coloring those paintbrushes with Copics got me on a serious coloring streak. I'm just experimenting with them. No formal classes. Need to go to bed early and watch some YouTube tutorials.  You'll see a few more Copic cards this week. Easy to do while sitting at the kitchen island next to Hank while he colors in his coloring book.  I feel like a kid again. Only with really expensive markers.

Lots of questions lately. Let me answer:

1. Where did I get Eliza's polka dot receiving blanket?

  • My mom made it. The fabric she got at Joann's.
2. How do you adhere vellum? (in reference to the Been Boo'd card I put up last week)

  • YIKES. This is a tricky one.The answer depends on the circumstance. Usually, I try to hide the adhesive behind something solid. Didn't really work out for me on that ghost card. In that case, itsy bitsy little tabs of double sided tape are used right along the edges and I don't pat them down. Still shows, but you have to be looking for it.
3. Are the retangles solid behind the letters on this Thank You card.

  • Yep. And I cut them with my Silhouette the same time I cut my letters so all three would be the exact same.

  3. Erin, all of your cards are wonderful! I first saw your talent on your ckmb blog and was so pleased to see you again last Fall here on your own blog. I just wanted to tell you about Suzanne Dean if you haven't already seen her videos on YouTube. She's great with copics and has quite a few tutorials available. You may already know about her but thought I would pass it along. However, I think your copic coloring looks pretty darn good already from this card! Thanks for all your talent and inspiration we see here. Lisa S. (creativemom4)
