Everyday Treats

We're back again tonight for ANOTHER group post! Are you excited or what? Aren't we tricky? And here it isn't even Halloween or April 1st.

Tonight the PTI team is featuring the new "Everyday Treats" set by Nichole. I had so much fun on this project. And it was hardly any effort. Which is why I will be a slave to PTI until the day I stop breathing. Just absolutely fabulous stuff.

Now that fall is almost here, it is time to start baking. Fall flavors such as pumpkin, maple, cinnamon, and apple make amazing quick breads and fill your house with the most amazing scents. With that in mind, I decided to bake a loaf of pumpkin bread to give to my high school best friend, who just happens to live only five doors down from me now. A "welcome to the neighborhood" gift. As soon as I'm done typing up this blog post, I'm going to run it down. She checks the blog here so I've got to deliver it before she peeks online.

Michael's always sells seasonal ceramic loaf pans. I picked up a mustard yellow one for $3.60 using a coupon. This way not only is the actual bread a gift, but the container as well. And if she so chooses, she could totally regift both the pan and the PTI wrapper. I wouldn't tell a soul as long as she doesn't mind that the pumpkin bread isn't exactly from scratch. It's a Pillsbury mix. Shhhhh.  Just couldn't find a can of pumpkin in the store. Crazy, no?

I used the label stamp from Everyday Treats that matches up with the Mat Stack 4 die. Added a few leaves from Leaf Prints to pull in the fall theme.  And is that new impression plate not simply to die for? Up there with Woodgrain as one of my favorites.

I created the sleeve out of two pieces of kraft cardstock and a scoring tool. Super easy. Loaf pan is wrapped in Saran Wrap before sliding it in the sleeve. The perfect presentation.

Now...\ that Mat Stack label had my wheels a spinnin'. Reminded me of a bee hive. And the Honey Bees stamp set. Why not combine the two? Had to do it.  I took one of the little flowers from Honey Bees and randomly stamped inside the hexagons. Copic markers add a little color and depth.

Be sure to check out the fun projects from the entire PTI Design Team tonight. We've been busy little bees ourselves, I'd say.

  1. The ceramic loaf pan looks great with the bread and label. And your card looks good too.

  2. I love this idea Erin! I will check those pans out at Michaels...can you say 50% off coupon?! =) I can actually explain the reason you could not find pumpkin. Our grocery store told us that the winter weather caused problems with the pumpkin crop and there is a shortage. It seems manufacturers are holding back on deliveries so that they can meet the demand at Thanksgiving.

  3. There was a pumpkin shortage last fall. Libby's has one can that has been locked up. There will be no canned pumpkin until this years harvest. I am not joking, I saw it on the news in August.

  4. Even card-making geniuses use coupons (and Pillsbury mixes), there is hope for me, haaaa! LOVE the colors, how you wrapped the pan with a cardstock "box", and your leaf print accents...and that bee card is buzzin' awesome! GREAT group projects, Erin!

  5. Love the bee and the honeycomb label - Awesome!

  6. Thank you soo much, we all (the kids and myself) ate most of the loaf for breakfast...super yummy! What a wonderful friend you are, I am so lucky to have you in my life (and only 5 houses away)..woo-hoo!

  7. Jaw dropping, gorgeous projects today! LOVE what you've done here.

  8. Love love LOVE it.

I agree, what's up with the lack of canned Pumpkin!!!! I had that problem when I wanted to make pumpkin bars for DD's graduation open house........

  9. FANTASTIC presentation! I love how you made the "surround" for the pumpkin bread! TOO CUTE! And your friend obviously LOVED getting it, too! How fun for her! :D
The bee card is adorable, you just made it all look perfect! Happy Fall to you!

  10. Great pumpkin bread presentation, what a yummy gift! But I love the bee card and how you added random flowers to the honeycomb!

  11. Love that adorable bee card...and I'm going to Michael's tomorrow to see if I can score me some of those cute loaf pans! What a grand idea on how to "gift-wrap" your loaf, I love it! - Lisa Beeman

  12. Yeah, there is a nation wide pumpkin shortage! Here is a link from a June article at the Washington Post I had heard about this and stocked up a little bit (wish I had stocked up more - down to 4 cans) Love the bread gift and the card.
