A Follow Up

I really try to plan ahead with my PTI assignments to make cards/gifts for people in the future. Such was the case with the Sophia sticker card from April's Alpha-block group post.  I knew I was going to need a little somethin' for my best friend's seven year old. Makes, for me at least,  assignments for design teams/manufacturers' more enjoyable and meaningful.

Little Sophia's 7th birthday is today and her party was over the weekend. I wanted to add something because I thought the sticker card wasn't enough. Felt flower headbands it ended up being. All to match the card, as well. I used PTI felt and flower dies of all sorts as well as a rolled flower die from My Favorite Things Stamps. Everything was hot glued onto black headbands I picked up at Wal-mart.

Packaged them up in a Kraft window bag. Silhouette die cut flowers and Daydreamer stems in black ink. I LOVE using double sided paper in my die cut machines because I can get the most versatility with each cut. These two patterned flowers were cut with one pass through my machine. Sweet!

Hope ya'll are enjoying summer. I've been cooking a lot of new recipes lately. Watermelon Salad and Grilled Kielbasa and Pierogies made our keeper list this past week. Yum. Give 'em awhirl, I can't see anybody being disappointed.  Highly recommend Food Network Magazine too. One of the few that I renewed my subscription this year. We enjoy their little pull outs--50 Pancakes and Waffles, 50 Kebobs, 50 Potato Salads, etc. Been eating well around here, needless to say.

  1. Cute headbands! My mom was just saying how she wanted to learn to make some hair bows--she has a new-ish (8 mo's old) granddaughter that will allow you to put bows and cute headbands in her hair. My girls won't wear them so my mother is in girl heaven with the new baby.

I LOVE Food Network Magazine and have a giant stack of them in my pantry. I subscribed when they first started and have been very pleased. Cuisine at Home is another one I kept for a long time but no longer subscribe.
