Super Stars

Oh my stars and bananas! We've got a must have for your stamp collection today with Super Stars stamp set and border dies. The thing about stars is that you can use them for just about any occasion and for any person. Think about it...what couldn't you use them for? OK, maybe the shotgun wedding card would be out, but you might be able to work a star themed sentiment in there for that:). Giggle.

We had to come up with an inspiration piece for today's project from Pinterest. I came up with two:

This one is for color.  I see Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Plum Pudding, and Lavender Moon here.

And this one is for the use of negative and positive shapes.

I love stars. (Sudden craving for Campbells' Chicken and Stars just hit me as I wrote that! Hmmmm...that could be cute for a get well gift with a star themed card. You see what I'm saying....) The new Super Stars set was so easy to work with. I completed my assignment (the pink girly card) and kept on rolling with it and created a blue boy version as well. It wasn't until I went to write up my supply list that I realized I did something very unusual for myself--I only used the one stamp set for both cards! That's quite a testimonial if you are looking for a stamp set that packs a lot of punch. A very good value.

First up, my original inspired card. You'll see the color combo and the positive/negative use of the Seeing Stars die cuts.

A close up. I busted out a lot of techniques here. Glitter and embossing powder mainly. Gives it a lot of shine and sparkle--just like stars. The sentiment is embossed in white and the star trails are embossed in clear. Gingham paper in Raspberry Fizz helps to give some depth to an otherwise cardstock only card. I'm so hungry for patterned paper in all the colors! The Super Stars stamp set has lots of little accessory stars--outlined, solid, layered. They really help to add just a little extra to your projects.

Next up, my blue card. It's from my blue period. And by that I mean 4 AM when I couldn't sleep! HA! I was pretty blue about that. At least one can get some work done with the house is quiet. Very simple. Just a layered star in Blueberry Sky and Aqua Mist with a trailing sentiment.

I employed the Super Star Border die to the bottom, but not before stamping smaller stars in Enchanted Evening in the middle of each star and adding clear glitter.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you see just how spectacular Super Stars is and will want to add it to your collection. Pop on over to the other PTI blogs to see what the rest of the ladies are up to. I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of my release projects.
