Holiday Tags

It's a well honored tradition around Papertrey Ink to release a tag set for the holidays. I look forward with eager anticipation to see the year's new offering. I was not disappointed this year. There's on in particular that is so very much on trend--the confetti "Joy" tag. I snapped up the opportunity to work with it. And discovered a way to let it shine. Let me show you how.

We know that you all really enjoy making tags for your holiday gifts. And our assignment was to make a trio of tags that could be easily mass produced. When you team up stamps and die cuts, you've got an unlimited supply of duplicates to make as many tags as you want. And not a whole lot of work for a big pay off when you got a handy die cut machine around.

I heat embossed my confetti "Joy" tag onto the scalloped Limitless Layer 2.75" Oval die and used my own custom mix of embossing powder to make it look true to life in the confetti department. The word "peace" from Wonderful Words Holiday dies, an ampersand from Lowercase Block Alphabet, and the negative cut of a Heart Prints die help me to spell out "Peace, Love, and Joy". I dated the year with Mini Scrapbook Series: Library Ledger Additions. After all, these babies are commemorative right? We want them framed on the wall when all presents are unwrapped!

I also created a card using almost all of the supplies. Maybe in a slightly different arrangement. The new Super Stripes Impression Plate got called in to make an interesting background on Silver Shimmer Cardstock. I have the main piece mounted on a vellum card base. The confetti "Joy" is placed in the heart window.

So how about a close up of that embossing powder? (I told you earlier this week that I just couldn't stop, right?) See all the colors? Does it look like confetti? Pretty darn close, if you ask me.

Here's how I did it. I took a little bit of each of these containers and....

...mixed them together in their own jar. Voila! Custom embossing powder.

And that wraps up my group post offering for the day. Hope you enjoyed it and are mentally very busy planning your own holiday cards. Be sure to check out what the other girls' have been up to...
