The Kid's Version

I realized when I was putting up yesterday's blog post about my standard book and candy gift, that I had photographs of a kid's version as well. This was from a party in July that Hank went to. Things were pretty crazy baby-wise then, so I'm just getting to it now.

This is the second time I've made this particular set up. I think the original was in purple and pink. This little girl is a bit more of a tomboy (that'a girl!) so I went with Hawaiian Shores and Pure Poppy. I try to keep a few rolls of "neutralish" wrapping paper around so I can add in the color scheme via cards/tags/ribbons. This white with black polka dot is from Hobby Lobby.

I cut Papetrey Ink's Tag Sale #3 (my particular favorite because of the dotted border) out of Hawaiian Shores cardstock. The Little Princess stamp set and die (which I have used a ridiculous number of times) were used on the front. The curved banner and diagonal label stamp are Clear and Simple Stamps.

I made a star wand  to be tucked under the package ribbon out of the Seeing Star Dies, Block Alphabet Dies, and Pure Poppy Grosgrain Ribbon and Hawaiian Shores Satin Dot.  A small white bag is stamped in Pure Poppy with Background Basics: Hearts.  The Topper Combination set (the bag topper and stamp) is from Clean and Simple stamps again. Really a handy set to have, gotta say.

Like I said yesterday, a book and candy is my standard gift for kids. This particular little girlie got "Press Here" (another one I've given multiple times) and three rolls of Smarties. Sweet, yet sensible. Because I am a mom. And that's how we roll.

Also of note with kid gifts, if I do something like this, I make sure the siblings get a little something as well. So although the birthday girl to the big gift of a book with a wand, tag, and candy, her little sister got the exact same candy bag. Just so she could feel a little special too. Any excuse for more stamping, right?
