Introducing Pedal Pusher

Oh fellow stampers...this is the set I've been waiting so long for! Bicycles by Papertrey Ink. It's like the heavens have parted, brilliant sunshine is shining down, and angels are singing. I'm so very happy. I almost want to say that I no longer need another stamp set for the rest of my life. But we all know I would be lying. But when I'm in the moment and using it on a project, it's what I believe. Pedal Pusher is perfect for the type of fun and whimsy I always want on a card. Let me show you what I mean with the first two of the many cards I'm going to be making with it.

As you probably have seen by now with Nichole's post, there are lots of dies with this set. A bevy of layering possibilities. I took that option and ran with it, creating five bikes in a spectrum of rainbow colors to be stacked one on top of the other. Sort of as if they are all parked at a bike stand. A row of bikes makes me happy.

To showcase the rainbow, I kept the left side of my card a bit dark with using Smokey Shadow Polka Dot Patterned Paper. The polka dots add too he whimsy. A sentiment from Mat Stack 3 is added on a banner cut using the Stitched Sentiment dies and tacked down with red brads.

We were challenged to come up with alternative fillers for the basket. How about doing away with it all together and adding something else? I cut the basket portion off the bike die cut and added letters from the Block Alphabet Uppers in matching colors. Unexpected, but fun.

Next up, a card featuring the adorable puppy. Who wants to be the cute girl riding this bike with a cute puppy down the street? I do! Imagine the happiness it would bring the people you passed?

This card features a new favorite color combo of mine--Soft Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest, Spring Rain, and Enchanted Evening. I've said it more than once, I'm finding the Soft Blush to be a fun "neutral" to play off of, having used it a lot in this capacity.

I did a few things to the bike stamp and die cut to show you how you can personalize it even more. I'm sure you have a gazillion embellishments in your stash that can be used to accent the axles on the tires. These are flower buttons by Pebbles. I made sure I used a different color floss (orange) for added interest.

Instead of stamping the basket, I die cut a pattern paper one and trimmed it away so I could put it where you would normally stamp a basket. A flower stamp from Green Thumb plays off the flower buttons. I did the same to the seat. Die cut, trim, and place. Just ways of adding more color to that adorable cruiser style bike.

That's it for me. More tomorrow with Ruby Rose. My projects aren't done yet, so I'm the one likely anticipating the most what the end result will be! HA!
