Kid Kudos Day 1

It's the first day of the Papertrey Ink September Countdown. I've got a few things that are going to become available on September 15th that I'd like to tell you about. I hope you find that they fill a special niche in your stash...and your heart. They certainly do with me.

Kid Kudos (and Kid Kudos Additions...more on that later this week) are stamp sets that are geared towards letting the little and big kids in your life know how you feel about them.  It really is a collection of sentiments that are so close to my heart. The majority of the sentiments included (and there are a lot!) are the things I say to my own kids on a daily basis. And I've designed it so you have maximum versatility in building these sentiments. They work for the little kids all the way the way up to the ones who are 101.

Let's get started, shall we?

We've got the cute tree house image on this 4x4 card. As you can see, it is a multi-step stamp, so you can add lots of color to it. There are dies as well, so the tree house can be popped off the tree with dimensional adhesive. Love that!  Also included in this set are a pair of bicycles, both a girl and a boy version. They come with dies as well. Tree houses, swings, and bikes pretty much summed up my childhood. How about you? Such easy inspiration!

The sentiment "I'm so glad I'm yours" is actually in two parts. The "yours" is a separate stamp, so you could add color if you want or arrange in a straight line depending on your design.

Included in Kid Kudos are three "inside sentiments" that can be used on the inside of the card to carry over the thought from the front. The great thing about all three is that they are completely interchangeable with whatever sentiment you put on the front. Pair them up anyway you want! I added some red in the form of a heart from Heart-2-Heart #3 to this inside design as well. It is carried over from the red tree house on the front.  And again, this sentiment comes in two parts, the "forget it" is separate from "...and don't you", so you can stamp and arrange anyway you like.

Next up, we have a card for an older kid. I created this mountain scene by stamping the landscape stamp from On the Farm twice. Loved how the sun became a lake on the bottom. Stamps from Places, Please and Summer Camp add supporting elements. The sun was created using ink stained cork and Love Lives Here and Back Pocket Basics dies.

We've also got both bikes from Kid Kudos on a mountain trail. You can see the girl bike has the lower cross bar and the basket, the boy bike does not.

I think the phrase "I love you no matter what" is so very important to tell kids. I say it so much. Particularly when I discipline, as it helps soothe the sting a bit. HA! But it can also be used to let them know you support them 100%, no matter what is happening.

Here's the second of the three inside sentiments. See how it could work on the inside of the first card too? Very encouraging.

And lastly, I paired up a sentiment and the tree house with an image from Melissa's new Holiday Home set. You've just got to laugh at how well these goes together. We didn't plan it, but it works!

The sentiment on this card is three different stamps. In this case, I stamped one per line. Or you can stamp them in a row. There is also an option of saying "I'm so lucky to have you" which I'll show later on this week.

The fence is from Board & Beam. I trimmed off the bottom a bit to make it more proportional to the house. The zig zag border is from Dawn's new Background Basics: Stitching. Fun and funky.

That's it for me today. More tomorrow. And the day after and the day after that:). I certainly hope you like what you see. Kid Kudos, Kid Kudos Additions, and the dies will be available to purchase at www.papertreyink.com on September 15th.

We've got more release inspiration for you below. Lots of good stuff this month.
