Day 3 of Come All Ye Faithful, Additions, and Stitching Lines

I've got two cards today featuring my new products from Papertrey Ink for the month. Let me show you...

On this one, I wanted to show how you can take a winter and holiday themed stamp set and use it for other occassions, such as a birthday. All it takes is pairing it up with supporting stamps from other sets (Foodie Fun, Heart-2-Heart #5, and Think Big #12) to turn this pup into a birthday girl.

The dog itself was cut out of Soft Blush cardstock and stamped in Lavendar Moon ink. Instead of stamping her sweater, I cut it out of Autumn Rose felt using the coordinating die. The bow tie from the Additions die was cut out of Winter Wisteria felt and added to her sweater as well.

On the inside, I have another one of those sentiments I like to create that can be used on the inside of cards. Works well for a birthday. And as you can see, the lines are broken up for multiple ink color application. The hearts are pulled from Love Lives Here to bring in the Autumn Rose color from the front of the card.

I've got the stitching dies in action as well on this card. I used them to string the banner stamps. This time I left them as is, but you can certainly use this opportunity to stitch them in with floss for a realistic look.

Next up, it is time to dress the canine pals up again with another one of their outfits and a punny sentiment. The Jack Russel/Schnauzer is the only dog that has two outfits in the Come All Ye Faithful Additions set. You saw on Day 1 that he can be dressed up as Rudolph. He also has a halo and wings to dress him up as an angel. The wings on this card are cut of vellum for a more transparent look. Supporting elements were pulled from Hello Sunshine and Super Stars stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek today. I'll be back tomorrow with more. Here is some more inspiration for you today:

  8. I always read your posts with such a big grin on my face Erin. Sometimes giggles too. That angelic dog in the clouds just cracks me right up. Between the sentiment and all of the little details - totally over the top and absolutely perfect for any dog lover. I agree with Deb, any plans for cat lovers? Although I think it might be harder to make carol lyrics applicable to daily cat routines. They aren't exactly known for respecting their humans.
