Day 2 of the May Countdown

I'm back with a new Craft Brew card for you today for the May 2015 Papertrey Ink Countdown. I've also got a few other things up my sleeve, as well. I'll admit being here to tease a bit, as I'm not filling in the details. We'll just call them "mystery dies" for the next few days.

In reality, the "mystery dies" are additional detail dies for some new stitching projects I have coming this month. I'm not telling you what they are...yet. :) That will come later in the countdown. But it will be fun to guess between now and then, right?  And I need to show you how to use them on paper projects anyway. The ultimate in versatility.

Back to Craft Brew and what I was saying yesterday about the sentiment beer-style logos representing common card-giving occasions. There are several of them and only one of them has any reference to beer. This means that not only can you use them on the Pub Glass Die and the glass stamps in Craft Brew, but they look pretty great on their own without a beer glass in sight. Case in point, this "Jolly Good Fellow" card. The badge was cut with the Craft Brew Dies and stamped.  Then placed on a seal I created using the 1.75" Limitless Layers 1.75"  Circle Dies. A tone-on-tone stamping of the large sunburst image from last month's Seeds of Knowledge set makes a great last layer to this focal point.

We've got one of those "mystery dies" at work here with the dotted square. This is just the holes, no shape. And can I just say I ABSOLUTELY love the treatment of just stitching a large "x" with crochet thread as a layer in my focal point? Very simple and quick and WOW, what an impact! Think of all the Limitless Layers dies and stamps PTI has and think how you can do this for any of them.

I'm also working the Chicken Scratch Cover Plate Die as a border on the bottom. It carries the theme of the open holes created with our "mystery die" to the rest of the card. And it counts as #12 in my Chicken Scratch project. (#12 is teaming up the Chicken Scratch Plate with additional "holes only" stitching die.)

No Craft Brew here, but rather an additional "mystery die". There's a focal point created with this square grid of stitching holes. This die in particular has a square die included, so you can fill in the spaces. It is a "bonus" because I had the space left over within the open die to include it.  But I also realized that the Square Prints Die is just about the same size and cuts six squares at once, so that's an additional option for you if you want to do it, as I did here with Aqua Mist Bitty Dot and Spring Rain Simple Stripe Paper. The focal point is created with the Limitless Layers Square Dies, Beautiful Butterfly Dies, and Songbird Dies. The sentiment is from A Little Inspiration.

That's it for me. Check back at Nichole's blog for additional inspiration today.
