Getting to that point folks where all I want to do is put my feet up and relax with the pregnancy. I've commandeered Matt's favorite recliner and am coming to you live from the far corner of the family room with the help of my laptop. I might just stay here if nobody helps me up. You all will just have to bear with me if I am absent for a week or so from the blog. Just got to take care of myself and this baby:).
Still trying to get a few things done here and there. Remember I mentioned I wanted to use Pond Life for Hank's birthday thank yous? Got those done. I couldn't get the idea out of my head of putting that adorable frog in a jelly jar, just like I did when I was a kid. Cut the jar shaped card (jar_0336) on my Silhouette. You can turn any shape into a card using the copy/paste, mirror, and weld features.
Not entirely satisfied with how they turned out. Kinda muddy looking. Need more color. I'll probably build the idea of a jar card in the future. I do that a lot, do you? Have one idea morph into another until you have something really cool.
Also, I promised last week that I'd do a little tutorial about how to make this two-tone flower (in Enchanted Evening and Hawaiian Shores) using PTI's Beautiful Blooms II and the dies.
First you die cut two flowers per size and stamp them in different colors.
Next, you take one and cut apart the petals. You only need three of the six.
Layer and adhere the petals on the whole flowers.
Stack and build until you are done.
Supplies for Jar Cards:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Pond Life, Honey Bees, Mega Mixed Messages
Perfect Match Ink: New Leaf, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, True Black
Transparency: Magic Scraps (remember them?!?!)
PTI Rustic twine

Ahh, those pregnancy days are far, far behind me, though I still remember them well. It's nice to be able to put your feet up and relax! Erin your thank you cards are adorable and I see no reason to add more color, but since you are quite a fan of color I'm sure they will look even more stellar when you're through!! And your tutorial for the flower cards is wonderful. Thank you!ReplyDelete
Ooh stunning card/colours!! I've just ordered this set, can't wait to play now!! :o)ReplyDelete
You always inspire me Erin. These cards are fantastic even if you don't think they are. Glad you are able to relax. Take it easy.ReplyDelete
Erin, I am so happy to have found you again on the world wide web!!ReplyDelete
I used to follow you on CK and then youtube and then you disappeared! I can't believe little Hank is 2 already and you're expecting again. Such wonderful news. Bless you all on the upcoming arrival of you new little sweetheart!
I did something similar to your thank you cards, but I used vellum over a light grey paper. I needed to ink on the vellum or the bottom layer of cardstock. It depends on the style you are going for.ReplyDelete
