No Worries Mates!

Absolutely, positively my next Make It Monday Video is going to be on the embossing technique shown on this card. Might not be until the end of April between assignments, the monthly countdown, and my sister's bridal shower--but when you stumble on a great idea like that, you tend to earmark it for other variations and projects.

Cara  was nice enough to post the sandwich in my comments section. I'll just cut/paste. I really want to emphasize strongly that the cutting side of your die is not to face into your Impression Plate. You will ruin it. Cutting side into the paper. Sear it into your brains:).

Sandwich for double embossing:
A plate
B plate
impression plate facing up
die cutting side facing up
paper facing down
tan and vanilla embossing pads
B plate

And just because I have a few unseen cards, why don't I post one? Here's a little mash up (somebody called mixing two stamp companies by that name the other day and I loved it) between PTI and Hero. Adore those birdies from Little Bitty Bird. Sentiments are from All About You.

Another item to be aware of--there's a new Papertrey Radio episode up on Nichole's blog today.  Chit chat.

I seem to have a new hobby--making Eliza Jane headbands with PTI felt and Bloom Builders dies. Not that there is any hair there to hold back! Cannot stand the cuteness. Her head is so darn big that she's wearing little girl headbands already.

And lastly, if anybody is going to be down in DC tomorrow, look for Hank and I out on the Mall for the National Kite Festival. High on my list of things to do with him. Glad we're getting out alone together. Just happens to coincides with the Cherry Blossom Festival. Oy fey, it's going to be busy. And after that circus, we'll be checking out the Bug Zoo at Natural History. Cracks me up that it is sponsored by Orkin.

  5. Cards are cute of course, but baby pics... LOVE them! :-) (said from the mom of a boy and a girl!) and, now that my 4yo dd is a "miss priss" i have in my cart an assortment of the BB dies and a few others too so I can make an assortment of felt flowers for headbands :-)

  10. Cards are cute but hard to look too long at them at them when you post them along with a picture of Eliza Jane. What a cutie! She just takes the cake! Glad you had a nice day for kites.

Erin your cards are beautiful and so are the darling headbands! Do you use a cuttlebug? I just blew the side of mine out this morning trying to make some buttons with the coasters and am sooo sad! Am wondering if you use a different machine as your die cuts always look so clean cut? Thanks!

  12. Such lovely cards! I can't wait for that tutorial, it's a great technique! Your little Eliza is so precious!!

Hope you and Hank had a great time in DC--I'm not sure we'll make it down this year with all this cold/rainy weather, but there's a neighborhood in Bethesda (Kenwood) with tons of Cherry blossoms that we might visit.
